Strategic & Business Insights Associate

 

Join our dynamic team as a Strategic & Business Insights Associate and become a key player in driving market intelligence initiatives. Your role will be to develop, collect, and manage data that supports actionable, consumer-centric insights. This position is essential for providing analytical support and managing market research projects to translate findings into strategies that influence decision-making and business planning.

 

As the Strategic & Business Insights Associate, you will: 

  • Provide Reporting and Analysis: Deliver strategic market information, insights, and actionable recommendations to support efficient and effective decision-making, including:
    - KPI Performance Report
    - Monthly Marketing Briefs
    - Competitor Activity Updates
    - Market Model Update
    - Ad-hoc analyses based on evolving business need
  • Commission and oversee research projects ensuring robust and actionable insights
  • Collaborate with research vendors to maintain high compliance and performance standards
  • Leverage research suppliers to manage quick-turn projects efficiently
  • Apply advanced market research tools and techniques for problem-solving and strategic planning
  • Stay updated on competitive activities to identify risks and opportunities
  • Provide insights and summaries to Marketing and Sales teams
  • Cultivate a culture of learning by sharing industry, competitor, consumer, and retail trends with stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Deliver high-quality, value-added results under tight deadlines. 

 

What does success in this role look like? 

By consistently delivering high-quality market intelligence that Marketing and Sales can act on. This includes producing accurate and timely KPI performance reports, monthly marketing briefs, competitor activity updates, market model updates, and ad-hoc analyses that clearly explain business implications and support better planning and decision-making.
It also effectively managing market research projects end to end. You select the right methodologies, work smoothly with research vendors, ensure compliance and strong performance, and translate research findings into clear, consumer-centric insights and recommendations. You are able to handle quick-turn requests without sacrificing quality.
Success is reflected in strong stakeholder partnership and learning culture. You communicate confidently with colleagues at all levels, meet tight deadlines, proactively surface risks and opportunities based on competitive and market signals, and regularly share trends across industry, consumer, retail, and competitors to strengthen knowledge and decision quality.

 

Who are we looking for? 

  • A University degree in Economics or a relevant field
  • 3+ years of working experience, preferably in the tobacco or market research industry
  • Exposure to both research agencies and client-side experience is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of analysis software is an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, planning, and forecasting skills
  • Familiarity with consumer and trade marketing research (qualitative and quantitative methodologies)
  • Expertise in competitive intelligence and assessment
