Accounting & Internal Controls Analyst

 

As the Accounting and Internal Controls Analyst in the area of Accounting & Finance, you will be doing the following:

 

Accounting Operations & Balance Sheet Integrity: You will perform accounting activities across inventory, receivables, payables, treasury, and tax. You will prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, monitor outstanding items, support closing activities, and ensure that accounting entries are accurate, complete, and properly supported.

 

Internal Controls & J-SOX Compliance: You will execute assigned J-SOX controls and maintain the required supporting evidence. You will monitor compliance with internal control standards, identify control gaps, support corrective actions, review segregation of duties concerns, and promote control awareness across the organization.

 

Policies, Procedures & Governance: You will support the development, maintenance, and regular review of local finance policies and procedures. You will maintain control matrices and process documentation, monitor compliance with company policies, and provide guidance to stakeholders on governance and control requirements.

 

Audit, Risk Management & Compliance: You will coordinate internal and external audit activities, prepare documentation and evidence, and support risk assessments and compliance reviews. You will also assist with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements and monitor the completion of audit recommendations and management action plans.

 

Continuous Improvement & Projects: You will review accounting and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement. You will support SAP enhancements, process automation, standardization, and cross-functional projects that require accounting, finance, or internal controls expertise.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration: You will work closely with business functions, GBS teams, auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and control concerns. You will proactively escalate issues, recommend practical solutions, and help strengthen financial governance and operational effectiveness.

 

What does success in this role look like?

 

Success in this role means delivering accurate and complete accounting and control activities within agreed timelines while maintaining strong documentation and audit readiness. You proactively identify risks and control gaps, follow through on corrective actions, and help ensure compliance with IFRS, JTI policies, J-SOX requirements, and Cambodian regulations. You also build effective relationships with stakeholders, challenge inefficient processes, and contribute practical improvements that strengthen financial governance and operational performance.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Internal Controls, or a related field; CAT, ACCA, CPA, CIA, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Internal Control, or Finance within a multinational company or international audit firm; FMCG experience is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, J-SOX, and compliance frameworks.
  • Understanding of Cambodian tax regulations, with SAP or other ERP experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English and Khmer.
