Logistics Manager
About the position:
The Logistics Manager will oversee production and finished goods supply, coordinate with Marketing, Commercial Planning, and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to ensure inventory and shipment schedules meet demand. They will manage shelf life risks, quality control, and optimize logistics costs. The role includes monitoring inventory, ensuring accurate reporting, and collaborating with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to manage cash flow impacts related to inventory and imports
Main areas of responsibility:
Production and Finished Goods (FG) Supply:
- Manage production and shipping schedules based on requirements from Marketing, Commercial Planning and production plans from GSC
- Monitor FG warehouse levels in conjunction with Warehousing
- Resolve any conflict between demand and supply requirements and ensure stakeholders update plans based on outcome
Shelf Life, Quality Control and Write off Management:
- Monitor shelf life risks based on Commercial Planning forecasts and escalate any potential issues, including any mitigating actions available
- In conjunction with Warehousing, Marketing and Management, ensure all QMS requirements in relation to Product Quality Testing and FG Shelf Life Management are adhered to, including extension management
- In conjunction with Marketing and GSC, monitor NTM levels for all SKUs and escalate any potential write off issue
Logistics Operations:
- Coordinate and align with sourcing location shipment schedules/bookings and route
- Coordinate and monitor in transit inventory and update inventory projections accordingly
- Monitor and optimize logistics costs like demurrage, detention and port charges
Requirements:
- University degree in management, business, supply chain or logistics is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial position related to supply chain management in the FMCG industry
- English fluency required, Arabic as native language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with flexibility in stakeholder management between GSC and Market function
