IT SAP Project Manager


What this position is about - Purpose: 


The SAP Delivery Center within the IT Global Development Center, is accountable for the overall delivery of all SAP related projects.
The SDC Program Delivery Manager is a key role inside the SDC Team responsible fo SAP landscape management, SAP Project integration, application lifecycle management and SAP releases delivery. He/she will work closely with BTS, IS, GDC and I&O to develop a yearly and three year plan for SAP Projects and a successful release and landscape delivery strategy. He/she will be focused on supporting IT in the scheduling, coordination and delivery of projects impacting the SAP Landscape. 

The role will be responsible for delivery of SAP systems and cutovers in scope of the SAP releases, managing SAP program and landscape delivery, defining SAP cloud solutions release strategies and governance, maintaining JTI SAP Archiving policies and/or SAP change and transport management across SAP landscapes.

Success of the role is measured by having a clear communication and alignment with stakeholders, delivering tasks as per the schedule and having no impact in the movement to production. In the wide JTI landscape, this role needs to have the ability to fastly adapt the plan to the business demands to adopt new market requirements. In order to carry out the duties of this position, it is essential to have strong inter-personal communication and negotiation skills focus on win-win solutions. 


What will you do - Responsibilities: 


  • Reviews and validates all individual Project Charters and their detailed plans
  • Works with Project Managers and IT Leads to identify, pull together the Release Scope (functional and technical) for the SDC program of projects
  • Maintain fluent communication and alignment with projects, review status report and establishes quality gates for the project phases
  • Ensures  awareness of issues/risks throughout the SDC Program and appropriate escalation as required
  • Assessing, establishing and operating SAP Release and Landscape Management procedures
  • Maintains and defines SAP change and transport management processes and tools
  • Establish governance procedures for SAP Cloud solutions and supports relationship with SAP account management team
  • Oversees and manages outsourced SAP Landscape resources from Strategic Partners
  • Define the JTI SAP landscape strategy appropiate for company's eco-system and observing risk mitigation, flexibility, business demand and cost.
  • Support the implementation of SAP with new technology changes and challenges (e.g. cloud solutions, in-memory technologies, new business suites)
  • Align the JTI SAP landscape roadmap to support the SDC 3Y plan
  • Effectively design of SAP current year landscape to support SAP Release cycle based on requirements from project and support teams
  • Working with GDC, IS, GTC and BTS teams develop the 3 Year Release Plan. This should include required business projects, Technical projects, i.e.QA refreshes, SAP Upgrades, Hardware changes, Security patches, Archiving projects etc.


Who are we looking for - Requirements: 


  • University degree in IT or equivalent
  • 5+ years project management and IT/Business process management experience
  • 5+ years experience in managing ERP systems (SAP) implementations, integration, SAP development coordination, cutover and/or testing
  • Fluent English, written & verbal
  • Excellent computer skills. SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office including MS Project and Visio
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to deliver on time, ability to challenge project managers and follow-up promptly on any issues and/or risks identified. Strong organizational and managment skills to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Excellent inter-personal communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Solid working knowledge of ERP(SAP) business processes, concepts and functionality, including their dependencies and interdependencies
