Associate - Spare Parts & Services - Montreal
Position Summary
The incumbent ensures the availability and traceability of spare parts by handling incoming shipments, processing warehouse receipts, and preparing work orders for maintenance teams, in compliance with procedures, deadlines, and health and safety regulations. In addition, the role provides support to the Purchasing Department in various ad hoc activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming packages in accordance with established procedures;
- Perform all operations related to the receipt of spare parts and supplies, as well as shipments when required;
- Work closely with suppliers on quotation requests, management of non-conforming parts returns, and follow-up on credit notes;
- Process inventory issues;
- Prepare requirements for planned maintenance activities;
- Conduct inventory counts (cycle counts, annual inventory, and discrepancy investigations);
- Manage and analyze anomalies (missing parts, damages, delivery errors) and escalate when necessary;
- Resolve blocked invoices;
- Participate in the creation of new items in the information system;
- Provide efficient service to internal customers (mechanics, electricians, etc.);
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to departmental methods and procedures;
- Handle parts safely in compliance with plant health and safety guidelines;
- Work closely with the Director on various tasks and replace them when required;
- Perform clerical duties and provide backup support to manufacturing services based on operational needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- College diploma (DEC) or a bachelor’s degree (an asset);
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Skills, Competencies and Languages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word);
- Clear and effective communication, demonstrating tact, interpersonal skills, and courtesy;
- Strong attention to detail and rigor in task execution;
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
- Demonstrates autonomy and reliability;
- Knowledge of SAP and Power BI is an asset;
- Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
