Logistics Associate

 

Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of all inbound and outbound shipments, while ensuring compliance with applicable import/export license (IL/EL) requirements. Monitor and coordinate shipping and delivery operations in alignment with production and planning needs. Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely reporting to support smooth logistics operations.

 

As the Logistics Associate in the area of Manufacturing Services, you will: 

 

Import Operations

  • Coordinate with Material Planner to obtain shipment plan.
  • Coordinate with Global Material Supply (GMS) team to obtain accurate shipping documents (CI, PL, BL/AWB, Insurance Certificate, Phytosanitary Certificate, CoO).
  • Ensure compliance of the documents IL requirements.
  • Regularly track the shipment status and update to Material Planner. Ensure the IL validity against shipment arrival. Inform to relevant stakeholders for IL extensions where applicable.  
  • Assign shipments to Customs Broker and follow up on customs clearance, ensuring timely delivery to the right place to avoid production disruptions and minimize D&D charges.
  • Verify draft Import Declaration (ID) and ensure documentation accuracy as per company standards.
  • Resolve any issues arising with shipments related to transportation and customs clearance.
  • Investigate and report D&D root causes monthly.
  • Maintain organized shipment documentation in the company’s system.

 

Export Operations

  • Coordinate with Production Planner to obtain monthly forecast.
  • Prepare necessary documents (PI, PL, SC) for Export License (EL) application.
  • Liaise with Forwarder to obtain shipment schedules as per monthly forecast.
  • Liaise with the Global Business Support (GBS) team to obtain the Freight Booking (FB) number.
  • Prepare shipping documents (PL, SC and SN) and distribute to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse team for loading operations and with Broker and Forwarder to complete export procedures on time.
  • Verify draft Export Declaration (ED) and ensure documentation accuracy as per company standards.
  • Gather/Prepare necessary documents and apply e-Form D.
  • Maintain organized shipment documentation in the company’s system.

 

General Logistics & Reporting

  • Maintain organized shipment documentation in the company’s system.
  • Build weekly/monthly inbound and outbound delivery plans in collaboration with Planning and Warehouse team.
  • Calculate monthly customs deposit requirements, obtain internal approvals, and monitor deposit balance.
  • Ensure timely submission of logistics reports and documents to Line Manager and Finance.
  • Evaluate service providers’ performance regularly and support annual tender and contract processes in coordination with Global Logistics, local procurement, and Legal teams.
  • Verify logistics service invoices, ensure timely GRN completion, and provide supporting documents to Finance team for on-time payment.

 

Safety, Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

  • Support company initiatives related to safety, sustainability, and waste reduction.
  • Adhere to EHS and engineering standards to maintain a zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) and Recordable Injury (RI) record.
  • Actively participate in ISO audits, 5S3R programs, and global or local improvement projects.
  • Contribute to energy-saving initiatives and promote environmentally responsible logistics practices.
  • Take part in global and local projects or tasks assigned by the manager.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics and import/export, preferably in FMCG
  • Strong understanding of Myanmar logistics and regulatory requirements (IL/EL)
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP is an advantage
  • Proficiency in English, business writing and Microsoft office applications
