Trade Marketing Associate
Position purpose:
The Trade Marketing Analyst supports trade marketing strategy execution by providing market insights, performance analysis, and actionable recommendations to strengthen brand visibility, retailer engagement, and commercial effectiveness. The role ensures high quality reporting, sharp analytical capability, and smooth collaboration across Sales, Marketing, and Field Force teams.
What will you do – responsibilities:
1. Market & Trade Insights
• Analyze trade dynamics, shopper behavior, category performance, and competitor activity.
• Provide data-driven insights on product visibility, distribution, in store execution, and promotions.
2. Performance Reporting
• Maintain dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel, TMEC or similar) to track retail KPIs, trade activities, and campaign performance.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of all trade-related analytics.
3. Trade Programs & Promotions
• Support planning, execution, and post-evaluation of trade initiatives (visibility projects, promotions, activations).
• Assess ROI/ROO and recommend improvements or optimization areas.
4. Retail Segmentation & Targeting
• Contribute to retail segmentation models and support channel strategy development.
• Identify priority PoS clusters to optimize investment and maximize impact.
5. Field Force Support
• Provide KPIs, guidelines, analytical tools, and insights to assist Field Force execution quality.
• Help translate data into clear operational recommendations.
6. Cross Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Digital, and Category teams to ensure alignment of trade plans with brand strategy.
• Participate in cross-functional projects enhancing go-to-market efficiency.
7. Field Engagement
• Conduct regular store visits to gather insights and validate analytic findings.
• Evaluate execution quality and provide improvement feedback.
Who are we looking for – requirements
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership, adaptability, and problem‑solving attitude. Team player with a natural ability to connect functions and work effectively in a cross‑functional environment
• Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analysis, or similar fields.
• Additional courses/certifications in Trade Marketing, Category Management, or Data Analytics are a plus.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V/H lookup, dashboards). Good knowledge of Power BI or similar analytics tools; experience with CRM tools, TMEC, SAP, Nielsen/IRI or other retail measurement systems is a plus.
• Ability to build dashboards and simplify complex data.
• Previous experience (1–3 years) in trade marketing, commercial analytics, category management, or similar roles (preferably FMCG).
• Experience working with Sales and Field Force teams is a strong asset.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
