Sales Operations Excellence Manager
Position Purpose:
The Sales Operations Excellence Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating Field Force cycle activities in alignment with Brands, Trade and Distribution strategies, as well as overall commercial objectives. This role oversees the development and continuous update of the annual multicategory activity calendar, ensuring its integration into the relevant sales tools. Acting as a key link between Marketing and Sales, the Cycle Planning Manager ensures effective execution of cycle plans and delivers clear, timely, and commercially focused communication to the Field Force. The role also monitors performance through defined KPIs, identifies improvement opportunities and drives corrective actions when necessary.
Responsibilities:
As the Sales Operations Excellence Manager, you will:
- Provide a comprehensive overview of the annual multicategory activity plan, ensuring alignment with Brand, Trade, Distribution and overall commercial strategies, keeping planning tools consistently updated
- Monitor Field Force time allocation and performance regularly, ensuring clear prioritization of activities and timely implementation of corrective actions when deviations from the plan occur
- Ensure proper integration of Cycle Planning into the relevant tools, coordinating cross-category plans based on tobacconist clusters/segmentation and visit frequency, enabling performance tracking
- Prepare Cycle Planning presentations and coordinate Sales cycle meetings, fostering strong alignment between Marketing and Sales teams
- Act as a key point of reference for the Field Force, ensuring they are fully equipped with all the necessary information, tools and materials to successfully execute assigned activities in the field.
- Conduct regular field visits across different areas to gather insights and share best practices
- Support the Commercial Planning Manager in the development of commercial plans and act as the Sales point of reference for cross-functional projects.
Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in Economics or Business Administration
- Fluency in English and Italian (written and spoken)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 4–5 years of experience in Marketing or Sales, preferably within FMCG companies, with solid field experience
- Strong customer orientation, ability to work under tight deadlines and flexibility in managing multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex situations effectively
