Demand Planning Senior Specialist
Purpose of the role
The Demand Planning Senior Specialist is responsible for leading and consolidating the demand forecasting process while ensuring product availability, optimal inventory levels, and smooth end-to-end supply operations. The role combines analytical and operational responsibilities across demand planning, logistics coordination, and stakeholder management to prevent out-of-stocks, minimize write-offs, and ensure compliance with customs and transport regulations.
Areas of responsibility
Demand & Supply Planning
- Lead the demand forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Manage stock levels and delivery times to avoid out-of-stocks and write-offs.
- Monitor shipment information, including tax stamps and security code management.
- Oversee inbound and outbound transportation, as well as the storage of finished goods for the market.
- Provide expertise in international business processes such as customs clearance, ocean freight, and air freight operations.
- Monitor finished goods and non-tobacco materials’ shelf-life to proactively address potential write-offs.
Monthly Operational Planning
- Ensure accurate master data management in SAP and related systems.
- Verify customer sales orders and ensure proper forecast loading management.
- Support monthly operational planning cycles and alignment with sales and finance.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-functional Coordination
- Build strong relationships with project owners, sponsors, management teams, and the broader JTI community.
- Coordinate and engage cross-functional teams to align supply, commercial, and finance activities.
- Support the implementation and follow-up of global and regional projects, ensuring local adaptation and communication across functions.
External Communication & Logistics Coordination
- Provide shipment details to customs brokers, warehouses, and distributors to ensure timely import declarations in compliance with customs regulations.
- Oversee domestic logistics operations, including handling, storing, shelf-life rotation, picking, and inventory control.
- Ensure all third-party suppliers provide timely, high-quality, and cost-effective service.
- Define and continuously improve operational procedures for third-party warehouse management.
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Commercial Planning within the FMCG industry, ideally in a multinational environment. Proven understanding of marketing/sales processes, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills and experience using SAP and IBP; Power BI knowledge and project management background are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities, with a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.
- Full working proficiency in English is required (minimum C1 level), including written, spoken, listening and conversational skills, as you will collaborate regularly with global teams and stakeholders across different functions.
