Technical Product Owner
What this role is about?
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Owner to join BTS as part of the Voice-of-the-Consumer initiative. In this role, you will act as the bridge between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring the product roadmap is executed efficiently and aligned with strategic goals. You will validate business requirements from a technical and functional perspective, oversee feasibility assessments, and take ownership of defined areas of the product roadmap. What will you do?
Technical Validation & Delivery Readiness
- Collaborate with Business Product Owners and functional stakeholders to refine and validate business requirements, ensuring technical feasibility, scalability, and architectural alignment
- Assess complexity, risks, dependencies, and constraints for both global and market-specific demands, in close collaboration with technical teams
- Structure and document requirements clearly to ensure they are ready for delivery and meet quality standards
- Provide evidence-based recommendations for requirement approval or rejection based on technical criteria
Product Roadmap & Backlog Ownership
- Own specific technical and functional aspects of the product roadmap across Qualtrics and the JTI Digital Ecosystem (including Audience Studio, Adobe Marketing Automation, and PowerBI dashboards)
- Prioritize technical requirements in alignment with overall product strategy and delivery timelines
- Support backlog refinement and prioritization, ensuring user stories and acceptance criteria meet agreed quality and delivery standards
- Contribute to UAT preparation, defect triage, and release readiness activities
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for product-related topics, facilitating alignment between business, technical, and analytics teams
- Coordinate effectively with delivery teams, architects, analytics teams, and external partners
- Provide regular, transparent updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, constraints, and mitigation actions, escalating when necessary
Governance, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all solutions comply with D&IT governance, security, privacy, and quality standards
- Apply standardized ways of working and best practices consistently across deliveries
- Support audits, reviews, and required technical documentation as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for product evolution and innovation, contributing ideas to enhance the Voice-of-the-Consumer program
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen delivery effectiveness over time
What are we looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5–7+ years of professional experience, including 3–5 years in roles such as Technical Product Owner, Product Owner (technical focus), Senior Business or Functional Analyst, or Solution Analyst, ideally within an FMCG or comparable enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT ecosystems, including Qualtrics, PowerBI, Adobe Marketing Automation, Consumer Data Platforms (CDP), or similar technologies
- Experience delivering consumer-facing or CX initiatives, preferably within Voice-of-the-Consumer programs
- Hands-on experience working in Agile delivery environments using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to challenge requirements constructively using evidence-based reasoning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and security standards within D&IT environments
- Fluency in English to operate effectively in a global, multicultural context
