Job Title: Warehouse Associate

 

Job Context: The role is responsible for managing operational and system tasks related to receiving, handling, storage, and delivery of Green/Dry tobacco and NTMs at the warehouses. This includes supervising seasonal staff involved in inventory transactions, tobacco storage, shop floor deliveries, cooling bay operations, and inspection activities. The position ensures effective inventory controls through the use of JTI systems, maintains warehouse hygiene in line with IPM policies, and enforces EHS standards such as forklift safety, work at height, and employee welfare. All activities are executed in alignment with JTI values and commitments. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

1. Green/Dry Dispatching and Receiving

  • Monitor green receiving and dry dispatching/receiving operations at GLT and ensure system compliance.
  • Supervise seasonal staff during receiving operations and report any NCRs to the line manager.
  • Optimize rack utilization, bale loading, and dry stock scanning for effective storage and tracking.
  • Prepare basic inventory and logistics reports, including shift handovers and NCR summaries

2. Green/Dry Warehouse Inventory Management / IPM Management

  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards in green stock handling and movement.
  • Implement inventory controls, storage solutions, and maintain warehouse hygiene per IPM.
  • Oversee rack stacking by grade/area and ensure timely delivery to the shop floor.
  • Manage clerks to ensure system transactions in LPT/SAP are accurate and timely.

3. Cooling Bay / NTM Warehouse / Brequitte Operations / Hessian Delivery

  • Supervise cooling bay case movements and ensure compliance with policies and EHS standards.
  • Coordinate NTM inventory management and dispatch as per factory requirements.
  • Oversee hessian stock reconciliation, storage, and dispatch in coordination with the agronomy team.

4. Inspection Area / Project Operations / Innovative Thinking

  • Ensure timely delivery and layout of inspection cases, maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Manage re-strapping and proper return of cartons to the cooling bay after inspections.

5. EHS & Safety

  • Ensure all seasonal staff are equipped with PPE and follow EHS guidelines.
  • Enforce safe practices for forklifts, fumigation, and work at height to meet safety KPIs.

 

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree from a reputed university in Supply Chain or Business disciplines.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • 01 - 03 years of excellent overall supply chain experience is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of systems (LPT / SAP), Logistics & Warehouse operations, analytical and databased decision-making skill, excellent interpersonal communication skills, people management and leadership skills
