Brand Associate

 

The Brand Associate will join a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, working closely with the Brand Lead and cross‑functional marketing and sales teams to drive brand equity, activation initiatives, and product and packaging development within the JTI portfolio. This role will support the collection and analysis of consumer insights to develop innovative marketing campaigns, including communication touchpoints and program mechanics. The candidate will also assist in marketing and sales activities, collaborating with appointed distributors on brand launches, route‑to‑market strategies, and budget tracking for the Malaysia market and other assigned territories.

 

As the Brand Associate under the area of Marketing, you will:

 

  • Support the Brand Lead in developing key marketing mix elements, including product, packaging, communication, and program initiatives aligned with HQ brand guidelines.
  • Assist in translating brand strategies into effective product, packaging, trade, and consumer engagement executions.
  • Contribute to innovation projects by identifying new ways to reach consumers while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain key reports and analyses such as Distribution to Trade, Monthly Marketing Briefs, Product Performance Dashboards, Competitor Updates, and ad‑hoc insights for business decisions.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day agency management, including timelines, budget tracking, and supporting performance evaluations.
  • Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and support development of compliant communication materials.

 

Requirements:

  • Holds a university degree with at least 2 years of relevant FMCG marketing experience
  • Demonstrates strong project and agency management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments and collaborate effectively as a team player.
  • Shows curiosity and a growth mindset—actively seeks new knowledge, embraces feedback, and adapts behavior to improve performance.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, able to make sense of complex information, generate insights, and monitor consumer, trade, and competitive trends.
  • Fluent in English and local language; skilled in brand communication, negotiation, new product launch support, budget management, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and cloud‑based collaboration tools.
