Area Sales Manager Mature Markets

The role supports the Area Sales Manager (Matured Markets) and manages territories across Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Malaysia. It builds strong partnerships with Travel Retail operators, key accounts, and distributors, drives sales and market share through strategic account planning, supports sales and trade program execution, coordinates closely with logistics on forecasting and operations, and contributes to retail training and consumer activation initiatives.

 

As an Area Sales Manager Growth Markets in the area of Sales, you will:

  • Accountable for achieving market/area P&L targets and driving overall commercial performance.
  • Develop and align ASP plans for the assigned territory, covering portfolio, marketing, pricing, and investment strategies.
  • Manage rolling volume forecasts and system inputs, leveraging market insights to optimize inventory and respond to market trends.
  • Build and manage strong customer relationships, developing Joint Business Plans (JBP) and ensuring compliance across sales, logistics, and governance processes.
  • Lead the execution of sales, distribution, and through‑the‑line marketing strategies, monitoring executional KPIs such as sales, pricing, stock, and brand listings.
  • Oversee territory management, field force deployment, and coaching of internal or outsourced teams, utilizing sales force automation tools for field intelligence.
  • Drive new business development opportunities while supporting people management responsibilities and contributing to additional projects as agreed with management.

 

Requirements: 

  • University degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, distribution, channel management, or field trade marketing, preferably within FMCG or Travel Retail and Key Account Management.
  • Strong background in consumer and trade management, with cross‑cultural and cross‑functional experience considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, with additional language proficiency viewed as a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in territory and field force planning, key account management, trade marketing, merchandising, category and distributor management, and logistics/order management.
  • Demonstrated strengths in negotiation, financial and analytical skills, KPI monitoring and reporting, process/project management, customer service, and knowledge of external trade and regulatory environments.
