Marketing Associate

 

The Brand Marketing Associate will take the lead in new product launch projects by maintaining regular communication with JTI Global Brand Group, R&D, GBS, GSC and design agencies to ensure smooth development milestones and timely progress. The role also requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams across China, Hong Kong, and Macau— including Sales, Finance, and CA/Legal— to secure an on‑time launch.

As the brand gatekeeper, the Brand Marketing Associate will support and coordinate with Trade Marketing to deliver best‑in‑class brand activations in the trade.

The role will also be responsible for analyzing market trends, consumer behavior changes, and competitor activities to identify further growth opportunities.

 

As a Marketing Associate, you will: 

  • Lead new product launch projects by applying the appropriate brand assets in accordance with BG requirements. Ensure effective information flow from the market to all relevant stakeholders—including but not limited to R&D, GBS, GSC, and Regional teams—to secure smooth project progress, and provide timely alerts in case of any delay risks. 
  • Drive the creative development for product activation, working closely with third‑party design agencies to deliver JTI’s intended brand positioning and key messages in a fully compliant manner.
  • Conduct data analysis, leveraging resources such as Nielsen, post‑launch studies, and consumer insights to identify further growth opportunities. Demonstrate strong understanding of regulatory requirements and provide data‑based recommendations during ASP and Commercial Review processes.
  • Manage budget control, ensuring expenses are in line with approved plans, and support PR/PO processing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to Marketing team on other ad-hoc projects, activities as they arise.

Requirements: 

  • 3 years relevant experience in FMCG marketing and sales functions, both global & regional (in-market) experience (desirable);
  • Cross-cultural experience, good knowledge in marketing & strategic planning (Brand portfolio management, pricing, market analysis, consumer insights and innovation);
  • Good understanding of operational constraints and strong executional reflex appreciation of legislation / taxation, external relations, marketing standards in tobacco industry.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft applications and operations.
  • Proven team player, effectively communicating with various organizational functions.
