IT Business Solutions Analyst - Data Engineer
Partner with business stakeholders and D&IT teams to standardize solutions, drive efficiency, and deliver capability improvements. Support the delivery and rollout of centralized systems (including planning, data migration, external resources coordination, and go-live). Ensure third-party providers and external resources meet contractual commitments within budget, while complying with JTI governance, security, and project standards.
As the IT Business Solutions Analyst - Data Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify improvements for existing solutions.
- Assess and re-use existing JTI solutions/capabilities to maximize synergies and speed of adoption.
- Support development of capabilities delivered by global teams and/or regional/local solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to clarify new capability requirements.
- Work with the virtual team lead and line manager to plan needs into the roadmap.
- Support the D&IT demand process to deliver solutions as per roadmap commitments.
- Support rollout activities across multiple markets, including detailed planning and execution.
- Coordinate knowledge sharing with regions rolling out earlier to accelerate delivery.
- Support localization, data migration, and go-live readiness.
- Ensure applications in the assigned portfolio are stable, reliable, and compliant (e.g., data integrity, legislative requirements where applicable).
- Manage/coordinate incident management, problem management, maintenance, enhancements, and change requests.
- Provide appropriate user support and enablement so business users can use systems effectively.
- Maintain close communication with Market/Cluster D&IT Lead during major incidents to ensure correct business impact assessment and prioritization.
- Ensure adherence to D&IT and corporate governance standards, policies, procedures, and controls (e.g., J-Sox where applicable).
- Execute changes in line with the Project Management Framework and D&IT standards to reduce technology risk.
- Support oversight of third-party providers to ensure delivery against agreed scope, SLAs/commitments, contractual obligations, and budget.
- Support planning and management of budgets for applications/services in scope.
- Drive cost avoidance through alignment to corporate application standards and re-use of existing solutions.
- Identify opportunities to optimize, control, and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
- Monitor internal and external technology trends and propose relevant innovations within remit.
- Use approved low-code tools where appropriate to deliver simple/short-term capabilities.
- Promote API-based integration and improved user experience where feasible.
- Build strong networks with internal partners (e.g., infrastructure/operations, security, global delivery teams) and external providers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related field. Nice to have: Master’s degree related to analytics.
- 3+ years in a data-focused role combining Data Engineering and Data Science. Preferred: Experience in multinational companies.
- Good understanding of business processes in the FMCG industry.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Cloud platforms: Azure (preferred) and/or AWS.
- Hadoop-based platforms: e.g., Databricks.
- Orchestration tools: Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or Airflow.
- Hands-on development experience with Azure Data Factory (or cloud ETL tools), Python notebooks, and SQL.
- Strong prioritization; acts with urgency and understands strategic importance.
- Works independently with minimal supervision; organized and proactive.
- Team-oriented; able to build relationships and collaborate across functions/regions.
- Creative and innovative; challenges the status quo constructively.
- Comfortable under pressure; able to think on their feet.
