Trade Marketing Associate

 

What this position is about – Purpose

 

This position is opened to meet the Trade Marketing & district& Distribution Kinshasa, to maintain our leadership & the growth agenda based on the increased brand awareness, while improving the execution of market control as the benchmark supplier. You will oversee implementing trade marketing plans for categories, and you are assigned to track progress of marketing campaigns, activities and all trade programs such as Micro-distribution to achieve sales targets in the territory and uplift brands' visibility as well as their competitiveness in the Point of Sales. 

Provide and analyse the customer database of the territory; fix coverage plans of the soldiers and promoters to meet the sales target and budget in all channels. You will be developing close relationships with wholesalers, trade Marketing outlets, distributor sales representatives in all the distribution channels, identifying opportunities for growth in the territory, and championing initiatives as well as the best practices for excellence execution in the assigned geographical zones to achieve sales volumes, offtake at retailers and impactful visibility through merchandizing

 

What will you do - Responsibilities:

 

  • Cycle Planning: In charge of implementing cycle activities to boost sales, off-take, brand awareness & trade Loyalty. Implement brand and trade programs & promotions in the outlets according to the cycle plan. Ensure the effective and efficient execution of marketing activities in the territory. Drive maximum visibility to enhance the impact on consumers (Attract Consumers to Interact with our brands & generate a purchase). Manage Runners for an impactful visibility agenda on TM outlets and Brand Ambassadors on consumer activations
  • Distribution Management: Ensure that objectives in terms of brand availability, visibility (POSMs), Sales volume, Recommended Pricing & margin, and product quality are achieved in the territory.
  • Micro-Distribution: Implement the Territory plan for cyclos/soldiers & their supervisors to ensure coverage, Numeric distribution, effective calls & sales objectives are met. Monitor Micro Distribution sales performance of the soldiers, stock take, field execution of the Soldiers/cyclos; call frequencies & sequencies discipline, as well as the utilisation of the distribution tools (motorcycle /bikes and the digital Application to maintain a minimum customer data base of 120 outlets/ soldiers. Support the agency in the recruitment, training, utilisation, monitoring and maintenance of soldiers in line with the signed contract (SLA)

 

Whom are we looking for – Requirements:

 

  • A university degree or equivalent is preferable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Commercial Sciences, Marketing, Business Management, economics or finance
  • 2 years + experience in sales and trade Marketing (B2B or B2C)
  • Knowledge of the tobacco industry and/or FMCGs, Trade/ consumer Activations & Merchandising
  • Familiar with Route Planning & Route to consumer
  • Good Knowledge of local markets
  • Can fluently speak French & local languages (Lingala)
  • Basic English (Written) is a plus

  • Reporting | Advanced Excel | Customer Management | Defense driving skills with B/BE driving license
