Key Accounts Manager

 

What this position is about – Purpose

 

Responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with key clients by building strong partnerships, maximizing satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. This role demands a strategic blend of sales expertise, tactical planning, key account negotiation, and direct involvement in channel strategy development. It also includes facilitating implementation within strategic channel plans, stakeholder management, and performance reporting, all aligned with JTI’s International Strategic Account Management framework, to ensure the achievement of KPIs across a portfolio of key accounts.

 

What will you do - Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Account Management & Growth: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, serving as their primary point of contact. Develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets, foster growth, and identify new business opportunities, including upselling.
  • Business Reviews & Customer-Centric Solutions: Conduct regular business reviews to assess client needs, address concerns, and deliver tailored solutions. Provide exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries promptly and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and effective support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, sales, marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure seamless delivery of products/services and contribute client insights into the development of new offerings
  • Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification: Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to proactively identify threats and opportunities. Define and expand strategic opportunities within categories, contributing to long-term account development.
  • Commercial Negotiations & Performance Reporting: Manage contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions in alignment with sales strategies. Prepare and present performance reports, sales forecasts, and market insights to internal stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Category Management & Strategic Framework Alignment: Jointly own the development, implementation, and management of JTI’s category management framework at the account level, in collaboration with the category management custodian, ensuring alignment with JTI’s international strategic account management fundamentals and achievement of KPIs.

 

Whom are we looking for – Requirements:

 

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing /Sales (IMM, B-degree or equivalent) or 1 year completed studying towards a qualification would be a distinct advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years’ FMCG general trade marketing experience of which 3 years should be key account experience
  • Advanced IT Excel literacy, PowerPoint
  • English proficiency should be excellent
