Brand Manager South Africa + Cluster
We are looking for an experienced Brand Manager to drive the growth and development of the JTI brand portfolio across multiple markets. The role focuses on building brand equity and delivering sustainable growth in a highly regulated environment, through strong strategic thinking, creativity and effective execution of Brand Plans in line with Annual Strategic Plans, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and full legal compliance.
Position:
- Brand Strategy Development: Define and execute Brand Equity and Activation Plans to deliver annual objectives (SOM, volume, equity, profitability) across the South Africa + Cluster, while supporting the Group Brand Manager with market, consumer and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities.
- New Product Development & Launches: Lead allocated NPD projects, new launches and LEPs across markets, managing all required documentation, coordinating stakeholders and monitoring launch performance to ensure global targets are met.
- Brand Initiatives, Campaigns & Custodianship: Develop and deliver BTL campaigns and brand initiatives in collaboration with agencies, acting as brand custodian to ensure consistency with global positioning and HQ Flagship Behaviours, while building brand knowledge across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with global and local functions to implement brand strategies, ensuring full compliance with brand guidelines, JTI marketing standards and legislative requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Insights: Monitor monthly performance and brand health KPIs and work closely with Strategic Insights to translate consumer research into actionable strategies that drive brand growth.
- Supplier & Budget Management: Manage agencies and suppliers, oversee timelines and budgets, consolidate performance reviews and monitor allocated marketing spend with support from the Brand Associate, reporting to the Group Brand Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in brand management, marketing or related roles within the FMCG industry.
- Tobacco-related brand management experience is an advantage; commercial experience is a strong plus.
- Tertiary qualification (marketing-related diploma or degree).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Working knowledge of Nielsen and Circana.
