Material Planning Manager

 

 

You will be responsible for the Tobacco and Non-tobacco materials planning, maintaining inventory levels in accordance with Global targets and WH capacity. The employee's department main function is to incorporate production planning results to purchasing activities to ensure timely availability of materials in line with production plan and target inventory levels, avoiding/minimizing materials' write off.  Above scope includes Leaf blending function together with Leaf Planner, planning and coordination of customs clearance and fumigation processes for tobacco materials and blending process results confirmation with the defined guidelines and targets. You are also responsible for timely and effective communication with HQ functions (Global Planning) in scope of material's planning activities and markets- to align on write off risk and cost. You will be expected to lead Material planning team of 6 employees.

 

The position will be reporting to Planning Manager.

 

 

Position:

 

As the Material Planning Manager, you will:

 

  • Be responsible to ensure effective run of MRP for raw materials by means of;

      - Reviewing the result of periodic Materials Requirement Planning runs with MP team

      - Providing guidance to the team to solve problems and/or to improve efficiency of MRP process

      - Ensuring the flow of information mandatory for  subordinates to carry out daily business efficiently

      - Monitoring inventory levels, determining deviation from target and ensuring that necessary action is taken to meet designated targets

      - Ensuring effective communication with Production Planning, Purchasing, Import, QC and Warehouse for daily process flow, a smooth transition during launch, re-launch and material/code changes

  • Following up slow moving and obsolete material. Own write-off process, ensure write-off review, reporting and minimization with markets and internal stake-holders. Initiating the write-off process for obsolete items. Working as a member of the write-off committee to complete the process. Evaluating and reporting the financial impact of slow moving and obsolete items
  • Responsible for ensuring allocation of leaf inventory batches based on Work orders, Bill of Material, Target nicotine levels, Regulations & cost impact. Coordinating blending and tobacco requirement planning functions to forecast possible bottlenecks and/or financial impacts. Ensures conformity with related legal regulations in scope of blending activities
  • Preparing AP/LE input (material requirements), accordingly yearly purchase volumes that will be input for Purchasing, Accounting and Global Procurement. Preparing target inventory level proposal with justifications. Run Material movement study for LE/AP process. Preparing monthly / yearly reports related with NTM inventory levels and yearly NTM requirements. Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the NTM and Leaf Cash Flow sent to the Budget & Planning Dept. Contributing to variance analysis of NTM and Tobacco materials cost components together with his/her superior and Accounting
  • Maintain timely and full communication with other Company's departments and functions, prepare and share required reports and studies in MP department's area of responsibility

 

Requirements:

 

  • University degree in BA or Engineering
  • At least 3 years of expertise in Supply Chain operations, preferably in planning environment
  • Excellent English and Turkish
  • Expert knowledge of SAP and Excel
  • Presentation skills, process ownership; proactive, analytical and problem-solving mindset. Proven communication  and people management skills
