Agronomy Technical Supervisor

 

You will be responsible for planning and monitoring agronomy projects. Your focus will be on disseminating, implementing, and supervising tobacco production practices throughout the entire production area, as well as supporting the execution of approved agricultural projects in the field.

 

This position is based in Izmir and reports to the Agronomy Manager.

 

Position:

 

As an Agronomy Technical Supervisor, you will:

 

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Minimum Agricultural Standards (MAS) in line with crop integrity, sustainability, and quality requirements.
  • Support field execution through structured monitoring, KPI tracking, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure Crop Integrity, Non‑Tobacco Related Material (NTRM), and Crop Protection Agents (CPA) compliance through effective product control, risk monitoring, and corrective action management
  • Support to grower contracts, tobacco grading, purchasing, and ensure product quality during processing.
  • Improve technical skills of agronomy teams and growers through training, coaching, and field support.
  • Support smart farming practices, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability initiatives, and the development of field projects.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tobacco Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the tobacco sector or a related agronomy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of crop protection compliance, residue management, and quality systems.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and MS Office skills.
  • Fluent English with ability to work in an international environment.
  • No travel restrictions: valid driving license required.
