Field Marketing in essence is very similar to the Trade Marketing function with the main objectives of designing tailor made trade programs to deliver overall brand objectives to build brand equity and support sales performances. Whilst Trade Marketing focuses on generic and standardized trade programs & merchandising development to support Sales function, Field Marketing teams are required to have a complete understanding on consumer analysis, brand objectives, program design, alignment sign off, KPI setting, execute & measure, learn and refine. As a result, the Field Marketer must have awareness of the uniqueness of each territory, region and areas assigned to him/her and within these have a thorough knowledge of the trade environments and consumer mindsets. Based on the above, customized & tailor made programs have to be designed to make it relevant to the consumers within the respective territories and ensure overall executional  execellence. 



Territory management:

  • Each Field Marketing Executive will be assigned to a similar territory of an Area Sales Manager.
  • The incumbent will work very closely with Sales team on daily basis (field visit with Sales team, sitting at Sales depot for 3 days / week). 
  • He/she will be in charge of tracking the performance of the territory (Sales performance volume, DTC trial rate, Brand health – Off-take and actual selling price on trade), identify the relevant brand focus for his/her territory and drive for brand awareness, trials and repeated purchase of the territory together with Brand, Sales and DTC teams.
  • He/she will also need to gather the details of competitor activities on trade periodically and share the information & knowledge with other functions. 

Design special tactical / pilot programs for specific area

  • Understand the territory characteristics, the consumer profile and segmentation, the specific trade environment and retailers special needs and wants of the responsible area. 
  • Brainstorm with Sales team and design special tactical / pilot trade programs for the territory including scheme, duration, execution briefing, performance tracking procedure.
  • Discuss and propose to Back office management team before aligning and finalizing the scheme and process.
  • Control the execution on trade by working closely with Sales and 1-2-1 team.

Customized and control execution of Brand campaign programs

  • Understand the territory characteristics, the consumer profile and segmentation, the specific trade environment and retailers special needs and wants of the responsible area. 
  • Brainstorm with Sales team and adjust the scheme / timeline / trade item quantity allocated of the brand campaigns.
  • Control the execution on trade by working closely with Sales and DTC team. Ensure actual achievement will be in line with the KPIs.

Merchandising strategy

  • Understand the major conditions of outlets in the territory. 
  • Develop relevant visiblity strategy for the territory and work closely with Sales to control the deployment & monitoring of Permanent POSM and temporary POSM on the responsible territory.
  • Ensure visible levels of the POSM in the outlets.
  • Work with agencies and back office management team for the maintenance and Key visual roll out. 



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or any related field of study.
  • At least 1 year experience in Marketing or Sales (preferred Trade Marketing experience)
  • Has background in mutinational FMCG company is preferred 
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

Functional skill:

  • Trade program development: Able to develop trade programs to reflect brand objectives and sales needs.
  • Merchandising: Understand merchandising activities & opportunities across different channels.
  • Activation: Know your target consumers, and how to activate the brands in different touch points effectively and differently.

Soft skill:

  • Communication skill:Communicate openly, professionally, confidently and consistently with colleagues and other functional staff verbally as well as in written language.
  • Analytical and critical thinking: Able to understand the market situation quickly through on-field observation, communicate with various stakeholders such as retailers or consumers, and validate with the data analysis.
