People & Culture Associate - Hawassa
About the Job
The People & Culture Associate supports employee administration processes, including employment, transfers, promotions, terminations and leave management. The role ensures employees’ terms and conditions are respected while maintaining accurate personnel files and records.
What will you actually do?
- Support the Leaf P&C Supervisor in managing employment-related processes for permanent, temporary, and daily employees, including recruitment, contract termination, promotion, transfer, and identification of vacant positions at the LOC.
- Post vacancies, register applicants, and ensure candidates meet the required qualifications before proceeding with selection or employment processes.
- Complete all required documentation and formalities for employment, transfer, and promotion in line with applicable guidelines.
- Ensure employees’ terms and conditions of employment are respected in accordance with labor law, company guidelines, internal regulations, and the collective labor agreement.
- Process annual, sick, maternity, and other leave requests. Verify and file supporting documents; and maintain employee data and statistics related to age, experience, education, position, and other relevant details.
- Follow up on pension identification numbers for eligible employees and process retirement-related formalities in accordance with pension regulations.
- Maintain employee records and personnel files in an organized, accurate, and accessible manner.
- Ensure daily employee wage calculations are prepared accurately based on approved rates and paid on time.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.
What skills are we looking for?
Education & Experience
- BA Degree or College Diploma in Management or Public Administration.
- 2/4 years of experience in personnel administration.
Skills & Expertise
- Intermediate English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the Collective Labor Agreement, internal regulations and company safety policies. (For Internal)
- Strong record-management and administrative skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle employee information accurately.
