Position Purpose

The incumbent’s overall objective is to effectively support the CMA lead in managing GSC activities of the Partner factory to ensure production of JTI brands with the Highest Quality Products in a timely manner to satisfy Customer Requirements and inline with Company Standards. Is responsible for local manufacturing supervision, including product and specification management, material planning, production planning and supervision, ensuring JTI's quality standards, thus ensuring product integrity and delivery at optimum cost. Finally, the incumbent is responsible to ensure monitoring and reporting of the operation performance and the compliance with JTI's policies and procedures and code of conduct.                                                            

Position is located in Greensboro, NC 


Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Support the CMA lead to align with Partner Factory to control JTI tobacco and cigarette production according to plans and specifications.
  • Monthly production schedule alignment and daily follow-up with the partner to ensure timely product delivery to the market to ensure on-time production with high efficiency and flexibility.
  • To be responsible for ensuring quality of production within JTI manufacturing standards and specifications.
  • Build sustainable relations & rapport with partner's counterparts.  
  • Plans, organizes & manages all materials available for  production as required (MRP activities) and all activities related to production (shop floor papers, SAP input etc.) in close cooperation with the partner and JTI US team involved.
  • BOM timely and accurate update and communication to all involved, monitor material changes.
  • Maintains full cycle of materials planning, ordering and receipt till FG production in SAP (including IBP).
  • Maintains and improves material supply scheme processes from JTI factories  and 3rd-party suppliers to the partner factory via building sustainable communication with all parties, aiming  uninterrupted supply flow and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with the partner  available storage capacity and JTI inventory plans.
  • Verify  partner's monthly reporting on materials' usage, inventory to ensure accurate, consistent and valid data.     
  • Follow the shelf life of the materials, and minimize the write offs. Monitor material & product quality as per JTI Quality manual,  Coordinate collection and dispatch of samples for various purposes (QA Lab monthly samples, Prototype, Preproduction and First Production samples) to required destinations as the case may be.
  • Follow-up IMI (incoming material inspection) done by the partner, monitor JTI QA results and suggest measures to improve product quality if case may be.
  • Support CMA lead for all required reports  to be issued and KPIs to be monitored  in time and with correct information.
  • Timely uploads KPIs into GSCA and support CMA lead to ASP preparation.
  • Flags the problems or issues observed or anticipated, suggests decisions & measures, supports and actively involves into their implementation. Monitor and support reporting of machine maintenance & spare parts.    
  • Promotes safety working environment at the Partner Factory. Responsible to convey JTI’s occupational health and safety culture to CMA partner’s management and staff. 
  • Manage or execute various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.                                                


  Minimum Qualifications                                             

  •   Degree Level or Equivalent Work Experience
  •   3+ Years in manufacturing  position
  •   Manufacturing Services, M&P technology, market requirements, basic of production planning, quality standards, EHS requirements, project management.
  •   Efficient  organization, planning and communication skills are required.
  •  Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel). SAP4H experience in related modules is a benefit.
