Position Purpose


This position exists to manage JTI SA and other JTI Geneva based entities for day-to-day tax matters and provide valuable support to JTI SA Tax Manager in developing and execution of JTI SA direct tax strategies and decisions.

 

Main responsibilities

 

Manage JTISA and other swiss entities overall compliance for CIT, WHT, capital tax and stamp duty:

  • Perfom or control the preparation of Swiss direct tax returns and TPC returns.
  • Ensure JTI SA complies with Swiss tax requirements through timely submission of tax returns and timely payment of taxes.
  • Provide advice to JTI SA Tax Manager on Swiss Tax implications with respect to JTI SA business flows and finance operations. Pro-actively advise on potential Swiss tax issues, identify alternatives, provide recommendations.
  • Monitor Swiss tax legislative and court practice developments. Calculate and analyze impact of legislative changes on CIT, capital tax, WHT and stamp duty.
  • Ensure all direct tax positions taken by JTI SA, tax advices provided by external consultants and tax legislation updates applicable for JTI SA, are properly documented, filed and archived (CIT, WHT, capital tax, stamp duty).

 

Full accountability on intercompany services cross-charge tax aspects:

  • Manage improvement of JTI SA`s HQ cross-charge model documentation: periodic review of the model, challenge documentation, pro-actively communicate to JTI SA Tax Manager areas for improvement, guide JTI SA Business Model Team on necessary improvements. 
  • Perform periodic audit of HQ cross-charges maintained by non JTI SA Finance team including Global IT, BD, SRA, IP and others.  Pro-actively bring to JTI SA Tax Manager issues and recommendations on these charges, identify necessity to take ownership on these charges by JTI SA Finance team, take an ownership in cooperation with JTI SA Business Model Team.

 

Keep the relation with Swiss tax authorities on operational matters, including those related to tax returns filing, tax payments, obtaining of JTI SA tax residence certificates, authorizations for 0% WHT for Swiss entities.

Prepare JTI SA tax pack and control other JTI Geneva based entities tax packs. Review, analyze and challenge computations performed by JTI SA accounting team. Cash flow planning of taxes and assist in other Corporate reporting requirements.

Assist JTI SA Tax Manager in the course of direct tax audits, assist JTI SA Tax Manager in explanations provided to tax authorities at their request.

Assist JTI SA Tax Manager in developing and execution of JTI SA direct tax strategies including drafting policies & procedures, promoting the tax aspects of JTI SA business model principles to business partners.

Perform review and approve contracts from a tax point of viewfor JTISA. Provide ad-hoc advices to business partners including Legal, GSC, Corporate Finance, Global Logistics, markets, factories on day-to-day basis. Provide ad-hoc support relative to TP.
 

Competencies

 

Master's degree in Tax, Law or Finance.

3 to 5 years of experience in Swiss and International taxes in a Big four or in the Swiss company in the similar position.

English, French. SAP knowledge at high level of details.
