POSITION PURPOSE:

 

An opportunity has arisen within the Global Functions team, based in Geneva, reporting to the Global Functions Finance Director. This role will be the primary finance contact and dedicated financial support for the Global Information Technology management team. Information Technology is an expanding Function focusing on enabling JTI’s growth through innovative technologies. They are located across multiple locations, mainly Saint Petersburg, Madrid and Geneva.

 

The successful candidate will become a business partner of Global IT, supporting the function in a wide range of financial activities. This includes leading budgeting and performance management, providing financial expertise to support achievement of functional projects, providing direction to facilitate investment decision-making, identifying and driving efficiency initiatives. There is also a focus on ensuring proper financial governance.

 

This role is a great opportunity for somebody with finance experience who is looking to work closely with Global IT senior management and be part of a team managing $1Bn annual spend across all Global Functions. It requires a dynamic, motivated individual with a strong financial background who demonstrates insight, persuasion and decisiveness.

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Business Support: Actively support meeting functional objectives. Provide guidance on all financial matters and on functional projects. Facilitate and steer decisions.

Management Accounting and FP&A: Lead budgeting and performance management processes. Provide business insight and periodic progress to ensure meeting financial targets.

Financial Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate cost recognition in financial statements. Integrate relevant operating controls for correct accounting. Oversee all transactional processes in the Function.

Financial Governance: Ensure full compliance with Operating Guidelines and Policies & Procedures. Support preparation of functional BAP/Memos. Establish financial awareness and controls within the Function.

Financial Process Improvement and Cost Management: Identify inefficiencies and foster process improvements across the Function. Drive change management. Enhance cost effectiveness and build a sustainable cost management culture.

 

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration. Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA) viewed favourably.
  • Minimum 10 years finance experience required preferably in a multinational FMCG company. Solid background in strategic and financial planning, process improvement and investment evaluation.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, SAP, BW, Excel. TM1 experience is a plus.
  • Expertise and awareness of the functional operations of IT is a plus.
