Global Agrochemical Director
 
 
Why does this role exist?
The Global Agrochemical Director provides global leadership and technical direction on agrochemicals and other residues relevant to tobacco and tobacco products. The role ensures proactive understanding of worldwide regulatory scenarios and enables risk assessment and management across the “seed to shop” value chain.
The role also develops the evidence base, policies, standards and guidance required to support compliance, certification where required, and advocacy positions, helping to assure the integrity of plant‑based products across a diversified portfolio. 
 
 
What will you do?
 
In this role, you will:
  • Analyse and interpret worldwide agrochemical and residue legislation impacting tobacco and tobacco products
  • Monitor and anticipate broader regulatory scenarios affecting agricultural and other plant‑based raw materials
  • Develop and direct testing and monitoring programmes for agrochemicals and other residues in finished goods
  • Ensure compliance with residue legislation and support certification where required
  • Develop and apply modelling, simulation and analytical tools to estimate residue levels
  • Lead the development of strategies, policies, standards, guidelines and evidence generation related to agrochemicals and residues
  • Represent JT International S.A. in relevant scientific and regulatory forums and support advocacy initiatives
  • Recruit, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports where applicable 

 

 

Who are we looking for?
  • Ph.D. degree in agronomy, crop science, or plant and soil science
  • Minimum five years of experience as an agronomist or crop scientist in tobacco
  • Strong knowledge of the tobacco supply chain, agricultural business practices and regulatory environment
  • Excellent English language skills, with knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese Language desirable
  • Strong analytical capability, networking skills and clear communication style
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate global leadership behaviours
