Regional Sales Manager MENEAT Travel Retail
 

You will be working closely with the MENEAT Travel Retail Sales Director, the region's Marketing Team, the Sales Analysis and Planning Manager, the finance team, and the Geneva-based functional support departments. This position is responsible for managing, developing, and leading the MENEAT Travel Retail field force through the following key areas:
 

  • Driving customer prioritization and engagement leadership with JTI's category message based on research insights and data to protect and build the tobacco category in travel retail
  • Developing JTI's portfolio strategies and propositions for traveling adult consumers across GTR markets
  • Creating portfolio and pricing strategies, as well as consumer/trade marketing and merchandising programs, to achieve the GTR showcasing mission for the assigned market clusters
  • Developing the field force within the region to ensure a strong succession plan and talent development
  • Delivering the market cluster's P&L and KPIs (SOM, w/o targets, marketing budget, etc.)
     

Position:
 

The Regional Sales Manager MENEAT Travel Retail will be responsible for:
 

  • Using retail and customer data to prioritize key accounts and outlets, ensuring effective coverage through agents, distributors, and third-party partners to optimize the supply chain and meet commercial objectives. They will lead the team in developing a structured Customer Relationship Management (CRM) plan to build JTI brand equity, drive long-term customer relationships, and position JTI as a category leader. The goal is to create lasting customer affinity with JTI
  • Driving the development and implementation of Account Plans for local, regional, and international key accounts, focusing on portfolio and pricing strategies, shelf space management, merchandising, planograms, and executing brand activation activities with excellence
  • Leading the sales team in creating an ambitious ASP plan aligned with the Regional Sales Director, ensuring timely LE updates (including marketing budget) with Marketing Activation and Finance. They will be responsible for the implementation and achievement of the Sales and Trade Marketing ASP plan
  • Overseeing timely data collection for business management (e.g., retail audits, surveys, JTI sales volume coordination), using this data to drive accurate forecasting and order fulfillment. They will address supply chain issues, collaborate with internal and external teams, and develop customer engagement strategies to protect and grow the tobacco category
  • Leading the team in driving category management solutions based on GTR principles, proposing category space and positioning, brand allocation, and program development tailored to consumer behavior (e.g., gifting, regular purchases)
  • Developing strategic portfolio proposals for GTR markets, ensuring execution excellence across assigned markets based on JTI brand evolution and performance
  • Managing people: recruiting, motivating, guiding, and developing the team, ensuring a strong succession plan and talent pool
     

Requirements:
 

  • University degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration; MBA will be an advantage
  • 7-10 years in a management position in sales and marketing of FMCG
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of additional languages is a plus
  • Strong computer literacy (TME, TM1, SAP, TEAMS, PBI)
  • Experience in people management: formal leadership roles where you have directly managed teams
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced pace ambiguous environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Business strategy and insight (business ethics strategies, business insight, brand and portfolio management, category management, distributor and key account management)
  • Financial and analytical skills (Pricing, KPI monitoring and reporting, field intelligence)
