Consumer Insights Manager GTR
The role is instrumental in driving consumer centricity and consumer knowledge for JTI Global Travel Retail (GTR) business. You will manage different marketing research projects (Qualitative & Quantitative), leading and supporting the identification of the most relevant methodology, full project management, aiming at deep consumer understanding across categories, and timely sourcing of commercially relevant, actionable insights for global travel retail Consumers, Customers, Competition, and Category.
You will be engaged in global research agencies management to ensure seamless project execution, as well as looking for new innovative ways to uncover actionable consumer insights.
Position:
The Consumer Insights Manager will be responsible for:
- Consumer Insights Leadership: Lead insights generation for travel retail shoppers and consumers through ad hoc and tracking studies. Act as the single point of contact for consumer and industry insights in GTR, delivering strategic recommendations from multiple research sources. Responsible for defining study methodology & scope, designing samples, developing questionnaires & discussion guides, vendor coordination, brief creation, project follow-up, result delivery, internal sharing, and budget management
- Strategic Support: Provide data and insights for strategic planning and business presentations, including global and travel retail shopper trends, traveler traffic trends, and consumer behavior. Oversee data providers and subscriptions, ensuring compliance with JTI policies and budget control
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with GTR and non-GTR JTI teams, HQ, and markets to deliver insights, recommend actions, and promote best practices. Facilitate knowledge sharing via webinars, reports, and market findings to support strategic thinking and sales performance
- Airport Assessment: Drive the Airport Assessment Workstream to identify assortment and portfolio opportunities using 360° analysis. Analyze traveler traffic, shopper profiles, and purchase behavior to identify gaps and provide actionable recommendations in collaboration with the commercial team
- Basket Data Projects: Partner with sales teams to analyze store-level basket data, identifying opportunities for sales growth through strategic, cross-category insights. Maintain data confidentiality and align recommendations with both customer and JTI objectives
Requirements:
- University degree in Market Research, Business/Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology or other related fields
- 5+ years of professional experience in Marketing Research; Travel Retail, FMCG marketing, and tobacco knowledge is a plus
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal skills (second language is a plus)
- Strong research methodologies experience and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel knowledge is a must
- Robust commercial understanding and translation of business questions into actionable business recommendations and implications are necessary
- Well demonstrated interpersonal and intercultural skills and ability to smoothly operate across functions
