Facilities Maintenance Specialist
Areas of Responsibility:
- Facilities: Provide mechanical or electrical maintenance support, both preventative and corrective, for all facilities (repairs of bathrooms, lighting, doors, roof cleaning, painting, HVAC (preventative, filters), etc.) upon Manager’s request. Submit Maintenance Workorders in SAP Maintenance tracking system, verify when workorder task assigned have been fulfilled (document hrs. parts and corrective action).
- Processing support: Provide mechanical or electrical support to the production department at the time of breakdown requiring emergency corrective actions to ensure the resumption operations in a timely manner. Be responsible for proper work of air compressors (do the daily check if air compressors run properly with no issues), boilers (daily safety checks), back houses de-dusting systems (record pressure readings and document for unannounced audits). Report all the issues to the manager, repair under the direction of the manager. In the event of emergency breakdown, collaborate with Maintenance, Processing, Quality and EHS teams to ensure processing equipment is functioning at optimum mechanical efficiency to support the achievement of meeting customer targets.

Energy and efficiency: Ensure stable electrical, steam, compressed air, natural gas, conditioned air supply for production, warehouses and administration buildings; Improve energy consumption and safety in area of responsibility; Record, analyse and report energy consumption.Operate and Improve Building management system (BMS) with necessary data collection

Safety: Work with contractors to assist with fire inspections quarterly, perform weekly inspections of PIV (post indicator valve), perform fire pump houses weekly inspections and fire extinguishers monthly. Fill in the forms for reporting. Replace expired fire extinguishers. Do monthly ladder inspections and complete inspection sheets, as well as monthly emergency lighting inspections and repair if needed.Maintaining the cleanliness of machineries, utility equipment, electrical panels and utilities rooms.
- Infrastructure: Perform safety inspections of forklifts (repairs, maintenance, parts, inventory). Keep Storm drains ponds clean, check monthly. Provide moving support (i.e. furniture, etc.) as needed. Upon request, perform housekeeping responsibilities for both inside and outside, for ex. trash removal, external fence inspection, etc. Oversee contractors outdoor maintenance activities (tree trimming, grass, de-icing walkways, sidewalks, etc.) and report any concerns
- Comply with all EHS standards : labor safety, fire protection, environmental and hygienic company rules, equipment safety, etc. Ensure the usage of the correct PPE when completing assigned tasks, reinstall equipment safety guarding after completion of work, the correct tools are being utilized to complete task, tool are clean, properly stored and inspected before and after usage to verify safety compliance. Monitor colleagues, contractors and visitors working at processing facility and provide feedback to the individual or a manager when unsafe actions are being performed, proper PPE is not being utilized or additional safety measures need to be investigated

Who Are We Looking For - Requirements
- Associate Degree with a mechanical or electrical focus or High School Diploma or equilvent with 3 years of mechanical or electrical hands on experience in a industrial environment.
- Minimum of 3 years mechanical or electrician experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but will consider individuals new to work force with mechanical or electrical degree.
- Articulate in English with good communication and written skills when dealing with individuals.
- Self-Motivated, Ability to work in a team environment, Profficient Computer skills, Open minded, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Skills.
