Corporate Affairs Manager

 

As the Corporate Affairs Manager in the area of Corporate Affairs & Communications, you will be doing the following:

Fiscal Affairs:

  • Devise the Tobacco Excise Tax strategy, prepare supporting narrative and messaging; prepare the implementation plan in coopertion with other CA colleagues.
  • Support the team in preparing tax campaign document/case/reports and achieving the most favorable tax environment to ensure sustainable profit generation.
  • Retain a thorough understanding of all Tax/VAT/Customs policy issues affecting the Tobacco industry.
  • Prepare all external submissions to government or regulator consultations.
  • Coordinate and align excise tax strategy implementation with the relevant functions in the Region  and HQ.
  • Support and coordinate PR agency during any Excise campaign.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Define key messages, build networks, maintain good contacts, and effectively communicate with appropriate governmental officials and committees, regulatory agencies, and political representatives.
  • Maintain JTI’s relationship with relevant Committees of local Associations/ Chambers in Bangladesh such as JBCCI, FICCI, ICCB, etc.
  • Support engagements with political advisers, civil servants, non-departmental public bodies, or regulators to keep them informed about JTI’s work and policy concerns.
  • Attend external meetings with stakeholders, representing JTI and forging contacts with key decision-makers.
    Understand business priorities and develop an appropriate engagement plan for Corporate Affairs function.

Anti-Illicit trade strategy:

  • Responsible for the analysis of the Illicit trade trends in the market, gathering relevant information and research results.
  • Leads the cross-functional team in preparation for the strategy formulation, liaises with the relevant functions in the SA Region and in the HQ, collects and consolidates AIT experiences and best practices.
  • Align with regional/global Corporate Affairs colleagues in issues that require combined inputs to tailor advocacy materials.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 4 years of bachelors required from renowned academic institution.
  • A career in MNC at similar role and related trainings will be added advantage
  • Professional fluency in English (mandatory)
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills: managers in this role will write and edit high-level briefings and consultation responses, also engage in presentations internally and externally.
  • Great networking skills: Corporate Affairs Manager must possess the ability to confidently approach a diverse range of high-profile stakeholders. Ability to stay in touch with decision-makers and retain contacts.
  • People management skills: Manager would need to manage diverse teams in different projects , manage high-level stakeholders, agency, etc.
  • Information gathering and interpretation from formal and informal open source channels. They must keep abreast of ever-changing political and policy developments and inform senior staff of the organization's repercussions.
  • Knowledge on stakeholder mapping and engagement.
