Make Pack -Packer Operator

This position is responsible for operating either GDX500/C800/BVF; GDX2/C600/CT/C600 and/ or ASIB/MARDENEDWARD packer to meet machine daily production KPIs targets while producing high quality cigarettes as per available Operational and IWS standards and procedures such as Quality Plans and Brand Change/Shift Handover.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Maker Operator will be responsible for:

• Complete agreed shift handover process with outgoing and incoming operator and report.
•  Reporting on cigarettes produced, machine problems, Number of stops, Top losses with RCA and Actions for the next shift brand change or material change if any and compile accurately as per work instructions and procedures.
• Complete CL check (both Run and Stop) as per Standard CL Checklist
• Attend Pre Huddle followed by Machine Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication is performed according to Standard CIL Checklist and attending post-huddle.
• Checking Production Order and verifying it against actual materials supplied in machine.
• Complete a shift/Brand change Over checklist - Cigarette Packing reporting any deviation of material observed during verification as per agreed format.
• Operate the machine as per OEM operating manual, agreed Service Operating Guidelines, operational and quality guidelines.
• Work instructions implementation DO, THINK, CHECK and ACT at your level. Record down time as required.
• Monitor quality of product by conducting quality checks during machine operation as per Quality Plan and agree quality check guidelines.
• Sampling Quantity 2packs,2cartons and every bundle through case packer. Deviations must be identified, reported, and acted on within agreed time.
• Maintain safety and 5S3R at work and during operating the machine including having proper safety gear for self and crew during cleaning process.

WHO WE ARE  LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• 2-3 years minimum years’ work experience in Production Environment will be of added advantage.
• MS-Office applications and SAP system knowledge.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swahili. MS Office programs and basic SAP knowledge.
• Sufficient skills and knowledge to operate machines efficiently while complying with 5S3R and Environmental Health and Safety standards.
