Individual will report to and receive primary guidance/instructions form Maintenance Supervisor concerning preventative and corrective maintenance on processing equipment, processing vehicles and building and grounds at the JTI Leaf Services complexes. This individual will be a hands-on technician that will have the responsibility to provide support for mechanical or electrical issues to ensure the processing facility is operated in a safe and efficient manner. Individual will be responsible for working in a team environment at times and will be required to treat others with respect and fairness as they work together to accomplish one common goal. Learn to use proper resources that are available that will help you perform duties, help develop skills and share information with others so everyone is on the same page. Maintain (tools, vehicles, equipment, work areas) in a clean orderly manner, complete (daily, weekly, monthly and annual) check list for equipment maintenance, ensure submission of workorders in SAP maintenance system, follow up on them to ensure completion and properly closed in collaboration with maintenance support associate. Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and JTI safe regulation, ensure all safety equipment utilized is properly maintained and meets all compliance standards.

| Professional experience: minimum 3 years’ experience as electrician in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to read and work from blueprints and electrical schematics. Good knowledge of HMI / PLC. Must have a basic knowledge of VA electrical codes/regulations | |||||||||||
| Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with individuals. | |||||||||||

| Consult with the Maintenance Supervisor to confirm task assignments and provide hands‑on mechanical and electrical support for both preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Create and submit maintenance work orders in the SAP Maintenance tracking system, verifying that assigned tasks are completed and properly documented, including labor hours, parts used, and corrective actions taken. | ||||||||||||
| Proactively provide mechanical and electrical support to Processing Supervisors during production, responding quickly to equipment breakdowns that require emergency corrective action to restore product flow in a timely manner. | ||||||||||||
| Take accountability for assigned tasks, ensuring they are completed safely, professionally, and within established timelines to minimize downtime and avoid rework. Provide feedback to management with improvement suggestions aimed at reducing equipment failures, lowering costs, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the processing facility. | ||||||||||||
| Strive to be a dedicated team member by collaborating with Maintenance, Processing, Quality, and EHS teams to ensure processing equipment operates at optimal mechanical efficiency and supports the achievement of customer targets. | ||||||||||||
| Comply with all EHS standards, including labor safety, fire protection, environmental and hygiene requirements, and equipment safety regulations. Ensure the correct use of required PPE when performing assigned tasks, confirm that equipment safety guarding is reinstalled after work completion, and verify that appropriate tools are used, clean, properly stored, and inspected before and after use to maintain safety compliance. Actively monitor colleagues, contractors, and visitors within the processing facility, and provide feedback to individuals or management when unsafe behaviors are observed, PPE is not properly used, or additional safety measures need to be assessed. | ||||||||||||
