Commercial Finance Manager (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to strengthen our commercial partnership in the Swiss market and support long-term growth with sustainable value creation. The Swiss commercial and regulatory environment for tobacco and nicotine products is complex and evolving quickly. Getting investment allocation right across commercial channels, touchpoints and product categories requires strong financial rigour, structured challenge and clear decision support.

This role is accountable for building the financial framework and business partnering discipline that enables better commercial investment decisions across Combustibles and RRP. The Commercial Finance Manager will partner primarily with the Consumer Journey Manager as the key Marketing SPOC, while working closely with Brand/Portfolio, Activation, Digital/D2C and Sales/Channel leads. The role will lead the financial evaluation, scenario modelling and post-investment review process; Marketing, Sales and Management will remain accountable for final investment decisions and execution. Success will be measured through stronger investment governance, clearer trade-offs, increased transparency on ROI/ROO, and evidence of spend being reallocated towards higher-value opportunities.

Position:

As Commercial Finance Manager (m/f/d) you will be responsible for:

1.Investment ROI/ROO Framework

  • Design and implement frameworks for evaluating commercial and trade investment across channels, with a clear ROI approach for Combustibles and ROO approach for RRP

  • Partner with the Consumer Journey Manager to connect financial data with consumer journey / funnel data

  • Build a post-implementation review discipline, ensuring each material investment has a clear business case and post-event review

  • Model the financial impact of regulatory changes on channels and activities

2.Pricing & Portfolio Strategy

  • Build pricing scenarios across Combustibles and RRP, including discounts / multi-buys/EDLP trade-offs

  • Own the financial business case for portfolio decisions, working alongside the FP&A team and with the Marketing and Sales teams

3. Ploom Economics

  • Serve as the financial owner of the Ploom economic model (device / refill margins, D2C economics, pathway to profitability)

  • Track and report progress against the breakeven roadmap to Leadership

4. Commercial KPIs

  • Measure and track the shared KPIs across Finance, Marketing and Sales

  • Work cross-functionally to build the reporting cadence and dashboards required to make KPIs usable operationally

5. Business Partnering

  • Act as the trusted financial advisor to the Consumer Journey Manager and other key members of the Marketing and Sales teams

  • Provide clear recommendations and constructive challenge to support better commercial decisions, while ensuring execution ownership remains with the relevant Marketing, Sales and Management leads

  • Coach and upskill other members of the Finance team in ROI/ROO analysis

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance/Business; advanced qualification (CFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) a plus

  • 4+ years in a commercial/business-partnering finance role (not pure FP&A/reporting) with demonstrable influence over investment or pricing decisions

  • Track record of building something (a framework, a model, a KPI set) rather than only operating an existing one — this role starts with a blank page

  • Strong financial modelling ability; comfortable building pricing and investment business cases from scratch

  • Excellent stakeholder management with the credibility to challenge senior commercial leaders on spend effectiveness

  • Fluent English; German or French a strong plus for a Swiss market role

Strongly Preferred Background:

  • Experience in a direct-to-consumer, e-commerce or digital-first business, with hands-on exposure to CAC, LTV, funnel/conversion economics, attribution and marketing mix modelling

  • Familiarity with subscription, multi-SKU, or device + consumable (razor/blade) economics

  • Experience operating in a regulated or heavily scrutinized category

  • SQL or BI tool literacy (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker) beyond Excel

  • SAP ERP experience

What to expect:

Expect wellbeing initiatives, flexible work arrangements, growth opportunities, and excellent benefits, including a unique family leave policy. For more details on local policies, speak with the Talent Advisor.
