TOBACCO QUALITY SPECIALIST

 

For our new tobacco manufacturing facility in Tetouan, we are seeking a Quality Specialist to support quality control laboratory activities, perform inspections of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products, and ensure compliance with state regulations, internal procedures, and JTI quality standards. This is an on-site role focused on operational quality execution and continuous improvement.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Quality Specialist, you will coordinate the work related to process and final product quality control, ensuring the correctness, timeliness, and accuracy of testing for manufactured products.

 

You will be responsible for Quality KPI calculations and reporting, as well as verifying the conformity of manufactured products. This includes decisions related to the release (use), quarantine, or rejection of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products in accordance with established requirements and standards.

 

You will perform and support quality checks and measurements during new product testing and launch activities, as well as during equipment acceptance and qualification. You will coordinate daily and weekly calibrations, calibration checks, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation (I&C), ensuring proper documentation and traceability within QIMS.

 

You will lead QUIP (Quality Unsure Inspected Products) activities and support brand changeover processes within Manufacturing Processes. You will prepare monthly reports on defective products and materials and participate in regular coordination meetings with the Production Department to address quality issues.

 

You will identify training needs related to quality control and organize training sessions for Production Department and Quality Laboratory personnel. You will support subordinates in performing their duties by providing clear instructions, training, necessary information, and development opportunities, as well as contributing to performance evaluation. You will also coordinate pest control activities.

 

Your responsibilities will include staff scheduling and the preparation of a monthly summarized report for QC-related conversion costs. You will actively participate in the implementation of 5S and 3R initiatives to standardize Quality Laboratory operations.

 

You will ensure compliance with health and safety requirements by identifying hazardous production factors, assessing risks, implementing control measures, and reporting work-related incidents. You will organize and maintain your workplace in accordance with 5S3R principles, labor protection rules, safety regulations, industrial sanitation, and fire safety requirements.

 

EDUCATION

University degree in Chemistry or a related field.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

6-8 years of relevant work experience respectively and/or Work experience in the position of a specialist in the field of quality, standardization, and certification or in a similar position for at least 2 (two) years, preferably in an international organization;

 

SKILLS

  • Language Skills:

English, French and Arabic

 

  • Functional Skills:

Intermediate PC skills (MS Office applications)

Knowledge of internal regulations and company safety policies

Laboratory skills and understanding of statistical principles
