Category Manager GSC
What this position is about - Purpose:
The position exists to support managing the procurement activities for the relevant category within its own location
following the Cluster/Global category strategies and identifying alternatives if required. This role has the following
main dimensions:
- Act as a main point of contact for Cluster Category Manager
- Participate in financial planning and deliver benefits/value within the perimeter of action
- Drive ad hoc cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply Category Management principles, and coordinate Local implementation plans as per
Global/Regional/Cluster directions
- Ensure business connectivity and foster collaborative business partnership with specific stakeholders
- Manage SRM with key local suppliers in full coordination with Global/Regional/Cluster directions
- Ensure Cluster alignment and compliance with strategies
- Role model in compliance and ethics
What will you do - Responsibilities:
Category Management Strategy:
You will be responsible for procurement activities of the appointed business category within your own
location. Act as a main point of contact for the Cluster Category Manager. Roll out appropriate strategies set
forth by the Cluster Category Manager, provide sound direction for the appointed category and ensure close
collaboration with all local stakeholders
Apply Category Management principles, develop and coordinate Local implementation plans as per Cluster
direction
Work in close collaboration with the Cluster Category Manager to provide local insights on Global Strategy
definition and ensure that the suppliers' list is managed in the most efficient & effective manner
Participate in financial planning and deliver benefits/value within their perimeter of action
Suppliers' Management:
Identify and manage local suppliers' pool. Negotiate strategic contracts and ensure optimum and sustainable
supply conditions. Recommend timely strategic decisions where relevant to prevent procurement
inefficiencies. Ensure sustainability of supply and effective supplier relationship management throughout the
supply chain. Demonstrate ability to challenge status quo, propose and run projects that will add value to
both Procurement and business functions
Manage SRM with key suppliers in full coordination with Global/Regional/Cluster directions. Support building
of innovative & sustainable strategy with local suppliers and promote any ideas that could represent a
competitive advantage for JTI
KPIs & Targets:
Achieve set Procurement negotiation targets and KPIs. Plan and deliver Savings targets. Develop and
recommend strategic sourcing plans/decisions
Lead and /or support supplier bidding processes in close cooperation with respective business partners to
ensure the best combination of quality, cost and service parameters/conditions for products and services are
attained
Drive strategy implementation at a local level for assigned category and monitor performance.
Ensure corrective actions are taken when required
Drive ad hoc cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
Business Partnership:
Ensure business connectivity and foster collaborative business partnership with specific stakeholders.
Focus on demonstrating value of Business Partnership, by developing a customer-oriented approach.
Align strategy with key business partners and ensure it meets Business priorities. Establish alignment and
effective communication among procurement organization, business partners and suppliers. Take preventive
actions to avoid supply issues and resolve problems in due time. Act as the main contact person for the
hosted location Management Team to address Procurement-related aspects
Assume responsibilities for additional projects, tasks as assigned by his/her superior and reflect core
behaviors in all aspects of work
Market Intelligence:
Share Category intelligence, identify trends and opportunities. Apply best practices in procurement process
management by utilizing the latest models and take necessary actions for areas of improvement. Conducts
supply risk assessments, builds contingency plans, find alternative ideas, solutions in securing the best
conditions for the company including extensive market research and proactive sourcing of innovative suppliers
Who are we looking for - Requirements:
You have a University degree in Finance / Supply Chain / Procurement
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar environment in a multinational company
English (business language) is a must. The French language is an asset
Strategic thinking

Leadership skills, Management of internal and external parties
Decision making, identifying and applying efficiencies
Financial analysis, - Business environment knowledge
