Tax Specialist (Batangas)
The Tax Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring end-to-end excise tax compliance and operational excellence for JTI Philippines. This role is responsible for excise reporting, tax stamp management, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business continuity and strengthen compliance standards. The role also partners closely with cross-functional teams and regulatory stakeholders to drive process efficiency, maintain accurate records, and embed a strong compliance culture across the organization.
As a Tax Specialist, you will:
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete excise tax reporting and compliance with BIR regulatory requirements.
- Manage end-to-end tax stamp operations, including inventory monitoring, documentation, reporting, and IRSIS-related activities.
- Coordinate with BIR Revenue Officers on Premise (ROOP) and support routine regulatory queries, verifications, and inspections.
- Maintain audit-ready records, prepare reconciliations, and support excise audits, stock-taking, and compliance reviews.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and stronger compliance controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to promote tax compliance awareness and best practices.
- Coordinate third-party resources during peak operational and audit periods while ensuring adherence to JTI standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tax, compliance, or a regulated supply chain environment.
- Experience in excise tax compliance, regulatory reporting, or tax stamp management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and exposure to BIR systems (e.g., IRSIS) is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to thrive in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.
