Strategic Insights Manager

What this position is about – Purpose: 

The position is responsible for providing strategic insights on all Tobacco categories (i.e. RMC, Fine Cut, HTP) based on retail audit data, as well as data analysis to support portfolio, brand, trade, and distribution strategies. He/she will manage retail audit projects and relationship with research agencies and will ensure in-time and quality delivery of all data sets/information for Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria.


What will you do – Responsibilities: 

  • Initiate, manage and ensure accuracy of Retail Audit projects. Release analysis and summaries reflecting key market/trade trends to better support M&S business information need.
  • Manage Retail Audit research suppliers to deliver in-time and high quality service.
  • Provide local support and increase usage of software supporting application
  • Manage ad-hoc retail related projects (such as Census, Retail Surveys) covering all stages of the project (briefing, supervising the implementation – field visits – analysis, reporting) to provide in time, high quality, relevant and actionable data and information.
  • Analyze retail audit data and identify short terms and emerging medium to long-term trends on market, consumer buying behaviour and trade environment.
  • Act as GBS point of contact and manage the relationship as SME for the area of responsibility
  • Input and follow-up research funds allocation to retail audit projects and ensure spending recording (SAP). Facilitate negotiation of the best prices with PPO support, without compromising on the data quality for retail audit suppliers


Who are we looking for - Requirements: 

  • University degree technical or economics: specialization in mathematics, statistics or data science would be a plus
  • At least 5 years of research experience within a marketing research department in multinational company (preferably retail audit responsibilities) or in similar position within a research agency (retail audit agency is a plus)
  • Good background in data analysis (retail audit is a plus), experience of quantitative research data analysis, ability to identify and extract actionable conclusions and insights
  • Market research project management skills - on all levels (briefing, fieldwork, data analysis, reporting)
  • Result-oriented, broad-minded personality, responsible, punctual, growth-oriented person with a will and ability to learn and apply new knowledge and to find new ways of solving problems
  • Fluent English
  • Advanced PC skills: Familiar with at least one DB specific software (i.e. SPSS). Power BI is a plus
  • Team player, Proactive and “Can do” / “High quality service “attitude, able to work under time pressure
