Data Integration Operations Manager
Position Purpose:
JTI is building a Consumer Data Integration (CDI) team to improve how Consumer data moves across products and platforms. The team will build on an ongoing diagnostic, coordinate priority stabilization outcomes, strengthen ownership and governance, and shape the foundations of a longer-term integration capability. This is an early-stage team with a clear purpose, but not a finished blueprint. The people joining will help define practical ways of working, make thoughtful technology choices and build a capability that is useful, reliable and sustainable. The work combines modern data and integration technologies with close collaboration across business, product, engineering, governance, and operations teams.
As the CDI Operations Manager, you will establish and lead the operational model supporting Consumer Data Integration services across the organization. You will ensure that CDI services are operationally ready, observable, reliable and fully supportable from end to end.
This is a highly visible role at the center of platform operations, bringing together engineering, delivery and system owners to proactively manage service health, incidents, operational risks and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in ensuring that consumer-data services operate effectively and deliver a reliable experience for the business.
What will you do:
- Lead operational readiness and service management: define and operate the CDI support model, service expectations, operational standards and release-readiness criteria for platform capabilities.
- Build observability and monitoring capabilities: establish end-to-end monitoring, alerts, dashboards and service-health visibility to quickly identify and address operational issues.
- Own incident and problem management: coordinate diagnosis and recovery activities across platform and system owners, ensuring root causes, actions and ownership are effectively tracked and resolved.
- Drive reliability and resilience: define and monitor service reliability, availability, performance and recovery measures, while escalating operational risks when required.
- Deliver operational improvements and automation: partner with Engineering, Delivery and system owners to implement runbooks, automation and proactive support processes that improve service stability and efficiency.
- Support team development: recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of team members reporting directly or indirectly to the role.
Who are we looking for – requirements:
- University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technology operations, site reliability engineering (SRE), platform operations, production support, or integration operations within complex enterprise environments.
- Proven experience establishing end-to-end observability, incident management, and operational readiness practices across applications, platforms, and data integrations.
- Experience defining and operating SLAs, SLOs, operational metrics, support models, runbooks, disaster recovery, and service recovery processes.
- Hands-on experience with cloud observability and monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Service Health, dashboards, alerting, and operational automation.
- Experience operating and monitoring data and integration platforms is an advantage, including technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Event Hub, Event Grid, API Management, and Azure Functions.
- Experience coordinating technical teams during major incidents, leading root-cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and continuous service-improvement initiatives.
- Experience implementing operational automation, proactive monitoring, resilience planning, recovery practices, and control-tower style operational visibility.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to remain calm and structured during operational events.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
