WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE

You are responsible for entity finance controlling related activities ensuring full compliance with corporate accounting, financial reporting (internal) and statutory requirements (external). They will work closely with Entity and other Finance teams and Markets and with GBS to ensure monthly closing processes run smoothly, balance sheet analysis is completed timely and all relevant company standards via global policies and procedures / JSOX are adhered to.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES

Month End Closing and Corporate Reporting

  • Oversee closing activities performed by GBS, bring any issues to resolution, advice on and raise any non-recurring entries
  • Monitor the closing via analytical checks on BS and PL
    Prepare CFO quarterly reporting documentation for sign-off of the quarter results
  • Review reporting pages prepared by GBS
  • Review / prepare specific analysis requested by Corporate Accounting ensuring correct commercial context added

Quality Entity Analysis

  • Review account reconciliation prepared by GBS and prepare Balance Sheet Analysis monthly and present to Entity Finance Director identifying any focus areas of concern (ageing, unexpected variance etc.)
  • Follow up and timely resolve any queries from the BS review
  • Suggest changes in how account reconciliation is presented and analyzed to bring efficiencies 
  • Own monthly reporting deck and suggest changes to improve visibility of BS health

Statutory Financial Statements and Financial Audit

  • Prepare analysis of IFRS to Statutory ledgers and ensure all differences known, seek corrections and / or address root cause in case of errors
  • Own delivery of audit request list from auditors liaising with all stakeholders and performing quality checks on info provided
  • Own and deliver financial statements preparation and all supporting notes
  • Seek improvements in FS preparation through automation and / or more timely reconciliations during the year / request GBS support and guide them

Partnering with Tax

  • Drive compliance of tax related requirements e.g. intercompany transactions with contract BIR requirements
  • Business partner with tax team to provide
    • Financial analysis requests coming from tax audit requests
    • Explanation to questions surrounding accounting practice

  • Own Global Corporate reporting working with Tax and GBS as needed

Process Improvement Projects

  • Plan, execute, report and present findings and recommendation from in depth review of processes and / or balance sheet areas as advised by Entity Finance Director
  • Seek to document processes for knowledge building and proper documentation storage
  • Solutions should aim to bring efficiency in recording or business benefits 

People management (if applicable)

  • Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team 

Other (if applicable)

  • Responsible for various tasks and projects as assigned.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance. CPA is an advantage
  • At least 4 years of overall work experience in finance & accounting in a multinational companies including 1.5 years as analyst/supervisor/specialist level.
  • Experience in statutory audit / financial statement preparation
  • Experienced in IFRS accounting standards and at least basic knowledge of PH Corporate Tax system
  • Previous experience in driving change / process improvements
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
