Anti Illicit Trade Operations (AITO) supports this objective by securing JTI’s supply chain, combating counterfeiting of JTI brands, and addressing smuggling and illegal distribution of illicit products that negatively impact JTI markets and business.

The AITO Manager role exists to protect, sustain, and promote JTI’s business by delivering Anti Illicit Trade (AIT) strategic objectives through operational activity, market engagement, and advocacy, in full compliance with national laws, the JTI Code of Conduct, internal policies, and AITO procedures.

What will you do?

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering AIT objectives in a priority market and additional markets as required, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.

You will:

  • Develop, handle, and direct Anti Illicit Trade investigations and projects using external Service Providers in line with legal and internal requirements

  • Build, enhance, and maintain effective relationships with national and international law enforcement and government agencies

  • Prepare detailed intelligence and investigation reports, including trend analysis, operational updates, and regular reviews

  • Present AITO activities and findings to internal and external audiences to support understanding of illegal trade risks and impacts

  • Work closely with internal functions including Corporate Affairs, AITO, AITS, Quality Assurance, Intellectual Property, Sales, and Legal

  • Handle project budgets and ensure effective financial planning, control, and reporting

  • Investigate incidents related to diversion and smuggling of JTI products when required

  • Travel domestically and to other markets within the Eastern Europe Region when required

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum second level education, with a university degree in business, economics, law, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in investigations, law enforcement cooperation, or comparable roles in the public or private sector

  • Proven experience working with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, or similar stakeholder environments

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and knowledge of one or more local languages relevant to the Adriatica region

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and written communication skills

  • Solid project management capability with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively

  • High level of autonomy and ownership, comfortable operating without step‑by‑step guidance
