Business Development Associate

This role plays a key part in shaping strategic decisions by providing clear market insights and supporting high-level commercial initiatives. You will help identify opportunities for collaboration, build relationships across the industry, and contribute to cross-functional alignment within the JT Group. The position also involves supporting the Director through effective coordination and ensuring seamless execution of business activities.

 

 

As a Business Development Associate, you will:

  • Analyze publicly available data, industry publications, and market reports to track and summarize key commercial trends and regulatory updates within the tobacco sector. Your insights will support the strategic planning of the Hong Kong-based Director.
  • Identify and develop proposals for potential commercial collaborations with our key partner, the China National Tobacco Corporation, focusing on opportunities aligned with both companies' publicly stated objectives and mutual business interests.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with industry peers and partners by participating in relevant industry conferences, trade shows, and forums.
  • Collaborate effectively with other divisions within the JT Group by sharing relevant market analysis and contributing to cross-functional projects to ensure alignment.
  • Coordinate and manage travel schedules and event logistics related to your duties.

 

Requirements:

  • Preferably 2+ years of work experience. Experience in the tobacco or FMCG industry is a plus

  • Mandatory: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledgeable about international economy and politics

  • Nice to have: Understanding of the China tobacco industry system

  • Good to have: Background in consulting or finance, preferably with a focus on FMCG markets

  • High proficiency in verbal and written English and Mandarin Chinese

  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality outputs

  • Analytical and logical thinking skills
