IWS Manager
WHAT IS THIS ROLE ABOUT
The IWS Manager is responsible for leading the deployment of the Integrated Work System (IWS) across the plant, driving cultural transformation and operational excellence. This role ensures the effective application of the "Learn-Do-Teach" methodology to embed IWS principles within production lines and support functions, in line with the site's implementation roadmap and business objectives. The IWS Manager plays a key role in building site capability through the reinforcement of PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) practices, active support of IWS Pillar activities, and by fostering strong ownership of systems and operational standards at all levels of the organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Strategic Leadership & Cultural Transformation
- Support the Plant Leadership Team and Pillar teams to shape strategic direction, masterplans, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of the plant’s cultural vision aligned with IWS principles and the Compelling Business Need (CBN).
- Drive the adoption of "IWS is the work" mindset across leadership and operational levels.
- Champion and embed a culture of Continuous Improvement and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) throughout the site.
IWS Implementation & Pillar Management
- Manage and oversee the phased implementation of the Integrated Work System (IWS) across the plant in alignment with the site roadmap.
- Supervise and monitor pillar implementation, ownership, and health checks; support successful delivery through audits, reviews, and coaching.
- Ensure the use of IWS tools, methodologies, and systems to drive performance and sustain improvements.
- Benchmark best practices across plants to standardize and strengthen IWS deployment.
Capability Building & Coaching
- Build site leadership and team capability in applying IWS tools, standards, and methodologies.
- Facilitate 1:1 coaching sessions with pillar owners and develop coaching habits on the shop floor.
- Implement and validate IWS qualification processes for all pillar owners and leaders.
- Guide pillar ownership, step-up card usage, and self-assessment practices to foster accountability and growth.
Performance Management & Results Delivery
- Lead the Process Reliability process, ensuring accurate measurement standards, improvement plans, and regular reporting.
- Establish and maintain site KPIs and visual management tools to track progress.
- Develop and manage the site’s OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures), ensuring alignment with group objectives and the CBN.
- Coordinate regular drumbeat meetings (weekly/monthly/quarterly) to track IWS progress, schedule adherence, and cultural development.
Talent Development & Succession Planning
- Collaborate with P&C and Learning & Development to build training programs, colleges, and training books aligned with IWS needs.
- Identify training gaps, support transition and development planning for the site, and ensure succession planning is in place for key IWS roles.
- Promote a sustainable IWS culture by developing future leaders and fostering long-term capability within the organization
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proven track record in leading end-to-end Integrated Work System (IWS) deployment and site transformation initiatives.
- Extensive hands-on experience across multiple IWS pillars, with the ability to design, coach, and audit pillar activities independently.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally with direct exposure to IWS
- Strong analytical and digital skills, proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of SAP and Power BI is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing process performance, quality management, production planning, machine operation, and product/process knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and coaching abilities with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
