CREDIT CONTROL MANAGER

 

 

We are looking for a dedicated Credit Manager to join our team at JTI Company Netherlands. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our company's assets and managing the credit granting process.

 


Position:

  • Manage the debtor ledger, ensuring adherence to credit policy guidelines and JSOX controls.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments while maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  • Collaborate with the GBS credit team to implement global workflows.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly for accurate transaction posting.
  • Assess creditworthiness of current and potential customers.
  • Prepare and present credit information to management and auditors on aging, credit exposures, and DSO.
  • Identify potential bad debts and report accurate provisions to local management monthly.
  • Build relationships with collection agencies, credit reporting agencies, and insurance companies to ensure compliance with corporate credit limit insurance.
  • Review and update local credit policies in alignment with global standards while identifying specific market needs.
  • Obtain and analyze financial statements for all current and potential customers in the market, applying appropriate credit limits for trading.

  • Collaborate with external agencies to secure financial data for accounts requiring vigilant monitoring and work closely with collection agencies to actively pursue any bad debts.

  • Oversee all AR credit lines, ensuring that exemptions from global and local credit policies are monitored and authorized according to predefined credit management guidelines and company procedures.

  • Monitor and update the customer database to ensure all changes are approved and comply with company credit policies.

  • Regularly meet with sales management to inform them of credit issues and proactively coordinate with customer managers to anticipate and prevent potential problems.

 

Within 6 months you will:

 

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the role and the company’s nuances.
  • Develop strong relationships with the sales team, internal departments, Credit Control Associates, and external customers in the Netherlands.

 

Requirements:

  • Finance or Accounting educational background would be a plus or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance, preferably in a multinational organization, with exposure to credit management. A minimum of 3 years' experience in credit control or a closely related financial discipline is essential.
  • Excellent PC skills (MS Office) and working knowledge of S4F ERP systems.
  • Competent in the Dutch language or currently pursuing full proficiency.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience in, or understanding of, the FMCG industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management ability.
  • Self-starter who consistently takes initiative to drive projects forward, identifying potential challenges and opportunities early.
