Accountant

 

 

What this position is about – Purpose: 

 

In this role, you will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills, and effective problem-solving skills to maintain the proper company accounting records for day-to-day operations.
 

 

What will you do - Responsibilities: 

 

  • Day-to-day transactions: Process transactions according to stated procedures so that all transactions are recorded promptly and accurately. Perform month-end closing (MEC) activities with the team, ensuring financial information in BS and P&L is accurate, meeting MEC global schedule’s deadlines
  • Cash & AR: Maintain cash & receivable master data, Ensure the sales & collection processes controls are in place, and Receivable proceeds are collected & recorded within the agreed payment terms and KPI’s. Receivable, Cash and bank ledger are reconciled, and receivables are accurately recorded in the proper receivable ledger, including processing invoices, bad debt provision, sales integration between Sonic and SAP, and preparing the quarterly balance confirmations
  • AP & Payments: Maintain the AP master data, Liaise with other Dept to make sure that the invoices/accruals are booked, ensure payments to suppliers are released on time, supplier ledger is reconciled and invoices are recorded accurately and in proper ledger account, duplicate invoices are monitored and avoided.
    Maintain the booking of the company's leases and reconcile the supplier accounts and the BS-related accounts every quarter
  • Receive, process and execute requests to ensure they are properly handled on time and in accordance to set business requirements. Ensure that a high level of control is maintained by reporting major problems and areas of noncompliance to the hierarchy and resolving issues promptly
  • Tax & Audit: Prepare tax returns (Special Sales Tax, General Sales Tax, Withholding Tax & Corporate Income Tax) reporting in close cooperation with the Tax Manager and EY for final validation before submission.  Assisting in year-end financial and tax audits in compliance with statutory and company requirements

 

 

Who are we looking for - Requirements: 

 

  • University Degree (Accounting or Finance). Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are a plus
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting function within a FMCG company (international is a plus)
  • Arabic: Fluent. English: Excellent
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Analytical Skills, Attention to detail, Initiative and a high level of Communication Skills
  • SAP HANA experience is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI is a plus
