Category Manager: Angola and DRC

At JTI, procurement plays a meaningful role in bringing value, supporting business growth, and developing positive relationships. We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to lead indirect procurement activities across Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, supporting two rapidly growing markets.

Position:

As the Category Manager: Angola & DRC, you will:

• Oversee and improve Services and Marketing & Sales procurement categories throughout Angola and DRC
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, tendering activities, and contract management while ensuring compliance with global procurement policies and governance standards
• Partner closely with collaborators from Marketing, Sales, Finance, P&C, and other corporate functions to find opportunities, deliver value, and support business objectives
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, balancing urgent business priorities while ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Drive supplier performance, cost optimization initiatives, risk mitigation activities, and continuous improvement projects
• Provide market intelligence, supplier insights, and procurement expertise to support informed business decisions across the cluster
• Travel across Angola, DRC, and South Africa to support collaborators, suppliers, and business initiatives

Requirements:

• University degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or a related area
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, or a similar role within an international organization
• Proficiency in English, French, and Portuguese is required
• Strong procurement expertise, including sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and collaborator management
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong leadership presence, emotional intelligence, resilience, and confidence to influence and challenge senior collaborators when required
• Experience interacting with cross-functional teams and senior leadership teams
• FMCG experience will be considered a strong advantage
