Brand Manager - Angola & DRC
What this position is about – Purpose
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Brand Manager is accountable for the end-to-end success of JTI’s brands and portfolio in Angola and the DRC. The incumbent works closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation to develop portfolio, pricing, and communication strategies for all JTI brands; lead new product development and other product-related projects; and develop communication campaigns and materials for JTI’s brands.
The Brand Manager demonstrates a high degree of consumer centricity and understands the RTC and trade landscape, working closely with the Sales and Consumer & Trade Activation teams to ensure optimal communication, activation, and execution excellence across all channels and touchpoints.
The incumbent leverages strong analytical skills to actively monitor not only JTI’s brand performance, but also overall market dynamics, the competitive landscape, and consumer behaviours and evolving needs. They use strong interpersonal and communication skills to build enthusiasm for JTI’s brands and initiatives across the organisation.
What Will You Do – Responsibilities
- Act as custodian of JTI brands' SOM performance, formulate and implement portfolio, pricing & communication strategies in alignment with the Marketing Director, to ensure competitiveness of JTI brands to deliver volume, SOM, and OCC/FCF KPIs;
- Continuously monitor brand performance, market & consumer trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and address challenges through appropriate actions. Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns and assess against predefined objectives and KPIs;
- Oversee the development of all elements of the marketing mix, including product, pack, communication, and promotional strategies to strengthen brand equity and ensure alignment with brand positioning and regulatory compliance. Demonstrates end-to-end ownership of all brand and portfolio-related initiatives, proactively driving and contributing to the commercial success of the business;
- Build strong relationships and close collaboration with cross-functional teams and HQ Brand Groups, ensuring seamless and proactive information sharing as required to drive projects & the business to success. Create strong enthusiasm for JTI's brands & initiatives across the organisation;
- Responsible for management of global & local brand agencies, as well as management of all relevant projects, incl. timelines and budget management. Drives annual assessments of agencies' performance and takes corrective actions if necessary.
Who we are looking for – Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field;
- Eight or more years of relevant experience in FMCG marketing functions; experience working with global teams in a multinational company is an advantage;
- Fluent in English; Portuguese and French are a plus;
- Strong consumer centricity and strategic thinking;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and strong command of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
