Maintenance Manager
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reporting to: Production Manager
Job Objective
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all factory machinery and equipment. This role leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities to maximize production efficiency through effective preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute all maintenance activities for production equipment (Primary, Make & Pack).
- Ensure maximum efficiency and uptime of machinery through preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Manage installation, repair, and servicing of equipment, including coordination with external service providers.
- Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring high performance and continuous capability development.
- Implement maintenance planning systems and utilize manufacturing tools to improve operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all maintenance activities.
- Monitor and drive performance against KPIs and global maintenance standards.
- Support recruitment, training, performance management, and motivation of maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with production teams to support smooth and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Maintain knowledge of technical systems, equipment specifications, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- BSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with automated machinery.
- Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and maintenance systems
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Solid planning and organizational skills
- Good understanding of health & safety standards
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Strong communication skills with advanced English proficiency
