Position Purpose
The Fleet Manager oversees, plans, organizes, and coordinates transport services and vehicle maintenance for the Head Office and Leaf Operation Centers. The role ensures efficient fleet operations, compliance with company policies and government regulations, and the implementation of effective vehicle management and maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations & Systems Development
- Develop and implement vehicle management systems for optimal usage, maintenance, and replacement.
- Establish and enforce fleet management policies.
Vendor Management & Contract Implementation
- Work with transport vendors to ensure effective contract management and high‑quality service delivery.
- Lead vendor evaluation, selection, onboarding, and contract preparation.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreements.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure all vehicles comply with company policies and traffic regulations.
- Maintain updated insurance coverage.
- Ensure annual inspections and municipal payments are completed.
Vehicle Maintenance & Record Keeping
- Ensure timely, proper vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records for mileage, fuel, oil, tires, and downtime.
- Review reports and act on irregularities.
Resource Planning & Budgeting
- Prepare budgets and specifications for vehicles and spare parts.
- Support procurement through tender specifications and technical recommendations.
- Ensure cost‑effective use of parts and supplies.
Operational Support & Coordination
- Provide reliable transportation services across departments.
- Coordinate with site managers on vehicle utilization and employee transport.
- Work with logistics teams on fueling, monitoring, and telematics checks.
- Ensure availability of pool drivers.
Preventive Maintenance & Asset Longevity
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance, especially for remote locations.
- Ensure durable spare parts suitable for challenging road conditions.
Safety, Training & Compliance
- Ensure drivers meet safety standards in alignment with EHS policies.
- Provide and coordinate regular driver training and refresher programs.
- Ensure safe, appropriate vehicles for visiting guests.
People Management
- Manage staffing actions (hire, transfer, suspend, dismiss) for fleet personnel as authorized.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks and manage projects assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, vendor management, transport operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance programs across multiple sites.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities (fuel, mileage, downtime).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
