WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE

 

The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation merchandising  and cycle planing. Leading the development & innovation of POSM and guardian for overall brand cycle calendar and act to bridge Marketing & Sales priorities for Myanmar market. They are responsible in translating brand strategies to trade strategy, ensuring production lead time, quality, brand fit, channel fit and share of voice is aligned with KPI set and meet the commercial objective. Additionally they are responsible to ensure the POSM investment is tracked and maintained in a good condition.

 

It is pivotal the incumbent is closely working with all internal and external stakeholders and cross functional collaboration is a must. It’s a mandatory premise that the incumbent to have deep understanding on the retail environment and behaviour, strong consumer centricity with strong focus on innovation and attention to detail. Fluency in English would be a proven foundation for a successful candidature

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall POSM strategy:
    • Lead the strategy development of the merchandising strategy. Ensuring trade and merchandising projects align with strategic business direction and also meet with customer values. This includes creating a POSM/merchandising strategy tailored to brand and channel needs. This involves engaging and alignment with internal stakeholders and external partners and brand KPI's is measurable and aligned.
  • Lead POSM development & Implementation while championing cycle planing:
    • Responsible for excellent execution of POSM / merchandising implementation. Work closely with Field Marketing & Operations teams to understand the field reality ensure that its done on time and in full. Established measurable implementation KPI focusing on implementation "easiness", effectivity and innovation. Act as the liaison between Marketing and Sales for all trade related activation while ensuring both side consideration are considered.
  • Insight Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze, provide insights, and improvement recommendations for driving visibility, awareness and brand equity ensuring that there is a thorough understanding of respective program both on key findings, key success factors, improvement plan and execution barrier that may exist. This includes providing a consolidate feedback within M&S (not only marketing), finance (when relevant) with strong focus on ROI.
  • Budget Management:
    • Reporting & alignment with C&TA lead. Leading their team budget/investment management & effective tracking to ensure the efficient use of brand resources while seeking for efficiencies when possible. This includes providing short and long-term plan for all business cycle period. 
  • Team Development:
    • Continue to foster critical mindset in the team, challenge status quo and consistently looking for innovative programs and implementation solutions.
      Building teams capability and drive a strong commercial approach in the team is expected, Ensuring talent pipeline working and in plan for business continuity (if required).

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree or other relevant education. 
  • At least 3 years experience in marketing, marketing communication and/or channel management with FMCG companies (Tobacco is a plus).
  • Consumer marketing or shopper marketing experience 
  • Strong understanding of retail behavior and landscape 
  • Strong cross functional collaboration skills and experienced in leading one
  • Good project management skills with attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English (both speaking and writing).
