WHAT IS THIS POSITION ABOUT?

 

  • FP&A Associate Manager - Market Planning is primarily responsible for owning the Market P&L of the Taiwan domestic for both actual and financial planning functions.
    • Managing the Market P&L planning process covering several sets of current year and multi-year planning cycles (OL, LE, SRP, and ASP) and providing analysis on Market P&L to Management, Region, and Corporate. The incumbent will work closely with the FP&A Manager - Market Planning and peers to ensure appropriate assumptions and completeness of information are used and reflected in the planning cycles (OL, LE, SRP, and ASP) and any ad hoc Management request. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring financial forecast is completed timely, accurately, and with a high level of quality, which includes reporting requirements to Regions and corporations with various in-house systems. 
    • Plays a key role in analyzing the reasonableness of input received from respective functions including volume and mix projection, cost-related budget, and all other related expenses input for Market P&L consolidation; running financial simulations and understanding of variance analysis concept.  This incumbent is responsible for ensuring Market P&L in every planning cycle is prepared and analyzed with a high level of detail.
    • The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing the month-end closing position to ensure the entirety of the financials before period closing, initiate corrective recalls journals (if needed), and prepare monthly reporting for Region, Corporate, and Management. 
    • Expected to build up and strengthen JTI market planning knowledge, and acquire a full understanding of JTI market-entity structure and responsibilities flow to ensure proper planning needs.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

 

  • Manage Market P&L planning and submission, provide analytical support on Market P&L, and analyze Market P&L performance for actual and forecast results for Management review.
    • Review and check posting transactions before period closing to ensure the entirety of posting for the period and prepare Market P&L draft by WD2.
    • Perform actual vs. plan analysis to identify areas of focus or improvement and suggest corrective action points for Management Consideration
    • Prepare monthly Corporate submission reports such as CFO Volume and Financial Briefs which include the variance analysis and narratives
    • Review and maintain pricing files to ensure the data in SAP and forecast cycle is aligned and accurate. 
  • Full involvement in Market P&L Planning process: OL/LE/SRP/ASP
    • Work closely with the Entity Planning Team and Business Planning Team to ensure sufficient lead time to meet regional and Corporate submission deadlines
    • Coordinate deadlines for each planning cycle requirements, and follow up with respective functions to ensure relevant information is available on a timely basis
    • Review and validate forecast input to ensure correctness and completeness of planning requirement
    • Align Region and Corporate reporting standards/formats and ensure changes and all requirements are fully reflected in the financial forecast
    • Responsible for ensuring a smooth Market P&L Planning submission in TM1, GPM, and IBP
  • Manage and optimize the planning process of the financial model
    • Ensure update-to-date structure and assumptions are reflected which include but are not limited to SKUs, Profit Centers, Pricing Structure, Excise Tax, and VMC.  
    • Maintain efficient planning model and process; and seek continuous improvement on the model and process
    • Work to establish a structural analytical approach in reviewing the output in the Excel planning model against the output in TM1, focusing on vital checkpoints to ensure the correctness and completeness of the financial result.
    • Work to establish more analysis dimensions to support Management decision-making and to further understand the key drivers in areas such as Market P&L (total market and by brand family; reported and management); Profitability Analysis (by brand family and brand styles); Variance Analysis; and Scenario to Scenario comparisons and Roadmap.
    • Work closely with the Region and technical team in resolving TM1 issue promptly as and when issues arise
    • Work closely with the Corporate team to resolve any issue for actual closing and planning submission
  • Others
    • Have a clear understanding of CO and FI module; Market P&L and Entity P&L; Market FCF and Entity FCF; group and local GAAP; and statutory ledger and tax ledger reporting the difference to ensure proper information flow for the market planning process.
    • Understanding the business operations and business key drivers that impact financials
    • Assume the role of power User for TM1 and GPM.
    • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon the manager’s request.
    • Support team members in resolving day-to-day related planning and reporting matters

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience.
  • Strong financial analytics background preferably within a multinational FMCG industry.
  • Excellent Chinese and English communication skills
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, USGAAP, local GAAP, statutory ledger and tax ledger
  • Strong MS Office application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Knowledge on S4HANA functionalities, GPM and TM1 systems
